Round 10 will based around heat. Whether the heat dictates the results or whether Wanneroo can take the heat out of the Basso wind-sail. With the first half of the season now put to bed it starts to get into the serious side of the season. From general 1 Blue club chat most seem to be in agreement that the Basso side are the ones to beat. This seems to have legs with South Perth only winning 2 of the last 5 after a blistering 4-0 start to the season. Although Yokine, Swan and Doubleview are chasing the top 2 hard. With Swan and Doubleview the only teams to take major points off Basso, it's anyone's game from here.

With the Knights going 3 in a row up to R9 they were travelling very well. However with the absence of S.Buckley in R9 it showed on the scoreboard. He has carried the burden with great success over the first half with some big rink wins to collect the big points.
And The View have had similar success running a hot 3 from 3 before a strong Yokine lower their colours in R9. Without the big loss of G.Herriot in R9 and what he produced in R7 & R8, there's probably merit in not looking to far into that loss once Guy returns this week.
Doubleview 6-2

Kalamunda just got pipped in R9 by Basso in a very tight affair with the 2 Rodney's probably providing the difference on the day. With some mixed results in the first half they probably need a spring board win and this seems to be a great opportunity at home to do the double over the neighbours.
With Mundaring only winning 2 of the first 6 games they have pulled up the sleeves and provided good back to back in the last 2 rounds. They are not losing by much and with G.Bear and J.Lynch travelling well the points are there to be won.
With the away team taking the honours on R1, I think it will be very close for repeat for R10 but we'll marginally side with the home team.
Kalamunda 6-2

The Millers probably would fancy themselves after their home result in R1 against Rossmoyne but this will be significantly different with Rossmoyne only losing to Mundaring by 2 in R9 with big wins for Beacroft and Currie, so confidence will he high. South Perth will find it difficult to maintain the pace if they drop this game after only winning 2 of the last 5, and with 2 of the next 3 games away.
Both teams need a win to kick start the 2nd half of the season but I expect Millers to push through late.
South Perth 7-1

The Swans stamped their mark on the chasing pack with a strong performance against South Perth in R9. With 3 skippers now in the top 10 on the ladder, they are building nicely for the 2nd half and are playing like a tight unit.
Yokine have continued to gather some scalps after a slowish start. Anything they have lost has not being by much and have mostly only dropped points against the top 5 teams. Taking a big W at Swans will put the Doggies in a great position where the next 5 games are against lower opposition in the table and surely provides them with a strong chance of finals. If the back green was running faster I might fancy the Doggies but Swans at home are a safe bet.
Swans 7-1

Game of the Round: The Roos had a huge and well needed 8pt win in R9, confidence will be high. With only dropping a home Agg to Yokine in R5 they have looked very strong at home and they will need to front up to combat the Lions.
Basso also have 3 skippers in the top 10 on the ladder which shows their current form. Realistically, the Lions probably have a massive opportunity here to put real distance on the chasing group by picking up a win. With their next 3 of 4 games at home after R10 and anyone inside the top 4 they play at home on the run in. So it would be a brave punter to bet against them cruising home from a win here.
Basso 6-2
