Hope you guys and gals all have a Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year, and may you enjoy your bowls next calendar year. I don't have the benefit of being able to view many of the selected teams, so this makes picking winners a little harder, but here goes.

This game will be a " walk in the park " for the Roosters, as they attempt to win back first spot on the ladder. Remember, if you finish on top of the ladder you gain automatic promotion to 1st Division White next year. The Roosters have not been beaten at home this year, and there is no way that the Hawks will win this one.
Cockburn. 7-1

INS: R McNamara
OUTS: W Marsh

It was great to see the Mounties have an aggregate win last week, but that joy will be short lived unfortunately, come Saturday evening. The Holland and Crabb rinks for the Kookaburras, have been reasonably consistent this year, but Heldt and Innes need to step up, having said that the Innes rink had a great win last week, so they might have a more balanced four now. The veteran Tom Maras from the Mounties has shown the way to his younger skips this year. I think it is his first stint at skipping at this level, so we'll done Tom.
Gosnells 7-1

MELVILLE v THORNLIE

THORNLIE

G Beckwith, N Holden, T McCormack, J Thorn
G Sewell, P Reed, P Pohe, J Mitchell
J Francisco, M White, I Rewell, P Riggio
INS: No change
OUTS:

Even though the Ravens are the visiting side for this game, I am predicting that they may now have their season on track, which should enable them to scrape over the line against the Magic, who were anything but last week. But Melville may surprise back at home, but I don't think so. Randall returning for Melville will help. The Ravens in a close one.
Thornlie. 6-2

ROSSMOYNE v LEEMING

ROSSMOYNE
E Gollen, L Jervies, G Maesepp, V Andrews
A Petchell, D Price, R Mitchell, P Feszczak
R Lang, J East, W Harvey, M Hughes
D Green, R Halse, D Haddow, B Cranswick
INS: P Feszczak
OUTS: P Voon

LEEMING
T Alberti, I Ashworth, R Bellis, P Bamber
G Ford, D Clayton, G Freeman, R Lipple
K Vandersluys, P Boys, D Johnson, W Birrell
J Newton, G Burgess,     A Andersson,     D Anderson
INS: R Bellis, K Vandersluys
OUTS: J McDonnell, S Dobie

This game features some very good skips in Gollan, Petchell and Lang for the River Rats, and Vandersluys and Alberti for the Lions, to mention just a few. So the result could come down to what support they get from their team up front, which makes all the difference. Both teams will be desperate to win, just to be able to keep in touch with the top two teams. Having the home ground advantage will definitely assist the River Rats, so I will pick them to prevail.
Rossmoyne. 7-1

It is a long journey up the freeway for the boys from the bay, who get the ever reliable Ron Hall back this week. So I think the bus may be humming on the way home, but on their day the Reds are capable, just depends on which team turns up for this interesting clash. Both teams have some good reliable players, but I don't think the home side have enough depth.
Safety Bay. 6-2
