After only three rounds, there are just two unbeaten teams, Safety Bay and Cockburn with healthy shots up of seventy eight and seventy seven respectively.
The surprise to me is Thornlie, who are second last, with a shots difference of minus sixty five and having only four rink wins out of a possible twelve, I would be surprised if they don't come good though. Vaughan and Sewell yet to win a game, with the ever reliable " Bhudda " Rewell and his four, now three from three, which of course means that the rink now have three of the four points for the Ravens.

COCKBURN 97 (7) v MELVILLE 64 (1)
TePania, William 25 v Leahy, Travis 13
Krajancic, Marko 21 v Regan, Dwain 23
Musulin, Mirko 34 v White, Geoffrey 12
Wylie, Kenneth 17 v Randall, Melvyn 16

The Roosters sweeping the Magic aside in achieving a comprehensive victory at home. The TePania and Musulin rinks having big victories, Willie winning by a massive twenty two shots over White to carry the day.
Leahy, who is probably the best draw bowler at Melville, finding skipping a team may not be his forte. Dwain Regan gaming the only point for the Magic.

HILTON PARK 73 (5.5) v MT PLEASANT 71 (2.5)
Dodd, Gary 14 v Elliss, Barry 20
Hunter, Robert 16 v Welsh, Ernest 17
Simpson, Travis 25 v Coghlan, Jamie 16
Standley, Craig 18 v Maras, Tom 18

What a great fight the the Mounties put up away from home, to only lose the aggregate in the last few ends. They should be well pleased with this effort, winning on two rinks and drawing on another. Coghlan and his rink losing to Standley from Hilton by nine shots, with this loss being very costly.
The half point for Hilton gained by the experienced Dodd rink.

SAFETY BAY 88 (7) v THORNLIE 65 (1)
Beaumont, Paul 20 v Vaughan, Glyn 17
Hall, Ron 19 v Beckwith, Gary 13
Kennedy, Raymond 32 v Rewell, Ian 13
Carruthers, Chris 17 v Sewell, Glenn 22

The Ravens put up a reasonable fight down at the windswept synthetic green at Safety Bay, but once again were found wanting when it counted.
Ron Hall carrying on his winning ways, as well as Paul Beaumont for the Bay.
As mentioned earlier, the ever reliable rink of Pas Riggio, White, Francisco and Rewell being the only winners for Thornlie.

ROSSMOYNE 1 56 (0) v GOSNELLS 86 (8)
Petchell, Allan 13 v Innes, Doddy 14
Lang, Rawley 19 v Holland, Brett 24
Gollan, Edward 13 v Carbone, Frank 24
Jervies, Lee 11 v Crabb, Maurice 24

This result was completely unexpected, as the River Rats normally win quite convincingly at home, but maybe the Kookaburras have found a winning sixteen. A great contest between the Petchell and Innes rinks, decided on the last bowl, Petchell losing his unbeaten record, but only by one shot. I could be wrong, but things just don't seem right at Rossmoyne, very different sides to last years reasonably successful year. Jervies in his first game as skip getting well beaten by thirteen shots by the ever reliable Maurice Crabb and his rink. Rossmoynes first loss and a first win for Gosnells this year, tells us that this could be a topsy, turvey year in this division.

VICTORIA PARK CARLISLE 76 (1) v LEEMING 83 (7)
Johnson, Robert 14 v Vandersluys, Karl 24
Simms, Michael 31 v Dobie, Phil 18
Staude, Noel 18 v Ford, Gary 20
Florance, David 13 v Newton, James 21

Another surprising result sees the Leeming sixteen win away from home on the grass at the home of the Reds.
The talented Karl Vandersluys and his rink of Birrell, Johnson and Boys winning easily over the four of Robert Johnson.
Michael Simms maintaining his winning record with a big win over Phil Dobie and his rink.
Is this Bob Simms son? Could be, as Bob is still a good bowler I believe, and was a Vic Park stalwart for years.
