Another mini break after this game and some crunch games happening this weekend, will we see the final four start to take shape.

DOUBLEVIEW v CAMBRIDGE

DOUBLEVIEW
R Moyle, S Edmonds, B White, T Whitfield
C Slavich, C Bessant, A Tennant, A Wetzler
K McIlroy, S Gosstray, S Cerff, G Faulkner
J Slavich, B Brandsma, R Haring, J Barry
INS: No change
OUTS:

CAMBRIDGE
B Nairn, C Harris, A Foster, R Bolton
S Perica, N Lewis, D Jones, D Leeson
C Adams, L Strahan, N Bolton, L Bolton
P Harris, S Rushforth, C Wooldridge, M Bolton
INS: No change
OUTS:

Last chance stakes for Cambridge, in fact they really have 5 finals type games coming up, any loss and that really puts paid to their season. Win all 5 and who knows! But it doesn't come much bigger than this game for them, win it and they can believe in finals again. No bigger hurdle this year than Doubleview, boasting our recent Masters Pairs winners Ryan Moyle and Corey Bessant, well done to them. It is an imposing list from top to bottom, but as shown last week they can lose if they don't bring 100%. No change to either side for this game.
So who wins? It is at Doubleview where they have a 5-1 record this season, that loss to Manning where Cambridge have been a bit hard to tip this year, we can see the team and know the quality so if they are on they can cause the upset. They have a 3-3 away record including wins earlier in the season to Kardinya and Osborne Park, so they are quite capable. I think the all round depth at Doubleview should see them win this game in a close one.
Doubleview 6-2

SOUTH PERTH v MANNING

SOUTH PERTH
S Walker, N Reagan, D Mortley, T Reid
G Pauling, T Alberti, M Biglin, D Angell
J Opie, T Antonio, T Kinnane, K Pride
R Bresland, N Griffin, A Sharp, F Anderson
INS: No change
OUTS:

MANNING
A Williams, S Withers, K Jolly, S O'Brien
L Such, P Ker, M Kemp, P Herbert
T Mitchell, S Patterson, N Jones, G Quann
S Knott, A Heal, M Allan, L Herbert
INS: No change
OUTS:

Match of the day status easily, 2nd plays 3rd and Manning are coming! They have won their past 4 in a row, including wins over Bassendean and Doubleview so if they can knock over the Millers that will complete the 3 other top 4 sides and also means the last 4 games will be against sides not in the 4 which gives them a huge crack at making top spot. South Perth are the team experiencing a bit of a funk, losing 2 of their last 3 games so they want to get back on the winners table. No change to either team.
Playing it at South Perth means to me the game is even stevens. Manning obviously the better team at the moment but the home ground advantage experienced by South Perth evens it out. Both teams have strong skippers so the head to head battle will be fascinating. It could easily be won this game by the front end, how well they set the head up for their back end will decide the win. I am tipping an upset of sorts, Manning away from home to win only just, but their form is too good to ignore and when that club gets belief it can be hard to topple.
Manning 6-2

WARNBRO v KARDINYA

WARNBRO
C Biddle, L Kellow, M Campbell, D Phillips
B Kalinowsky, J Hudson, M Wilson, D Kitson
K Cousens, Dr G Jackson, P Guelfi, D Wagstaff
W Baker, D Pattullo, I Gibson, J Maley
INS: M Campbell
OUTS: J Pattullo

KARDINYA
D Brown, B Henley, D Wood, S West
K McKay, R Foy, D Flintoff, C Vinci
S Novak, M Abonnel, D Radford, J Terrell
D Rankin, P Davies, D Golem, D Comrie
INS: No change
OUTS:

It could be a danger here as Kardinya travel to Warnbro. Kardinya are the formest team at the moment, winning their past 5 games and we have seen Warnbro can be hard to topple at home. they are still missing Lindsay Strange, with him in the side it would be tempting to pick Warnbro, but without him they will push Kardy all the way but I think will come up short. Last year in this corresponding game it resulted in a draw, although Warnbro were stronger last season. They have made the 1 change, Pattullo out for Campbell.
I will be picking Kardinya to win on 3 rinks. After the early season horror start they have found their mojo and look good. Should a team in the 4 falter they will be there ready to pounce. With games coming up against Bassendean and Manning, they will have ample opportunity to grab a spot in the 4. Warnbro won't be easy, but Kardy to win
Kardinya 7-1

NORTH BEACH v OSBORNE PARK

NORTH BEACH
B Gillingham, M Sear, P Retallack, M Buttel
J McGinlay, P Walker, M McConnell, G Yabuka
G Devenish, R Kuziela, G Crosthwaite, L Mola
M Douthie, R Dempsey, R Hutchinson, J Clayton
INS: No change
OUTS:

OSBORNE PARK
G Caffell, P Quinlan, R Lawrence, I Lilburne
N Stevens, T Weir, T Ingram, G King
K Pickering, R Brown, S O'Neill, M Rollings
C Packer, J East, E Martin, M Kitto
INS: No change
OUTS:

The loser of this game can kiss their season goodbye, the winner still can hang on to a slight chance at a finals spot. Ossy Park are 14 points shy of 4th, North Beach 23, you could say it's all over anyway for North Beach but losing tomorrow will make sure of it. No changes for any sides.
Tough game to select. The track at North Beach is beautiful to play on, the wind and the speed are factors to consider when playing there. We played Ossy Park last week and jumped them early, that will be the key for North Beach as Ossy Park are a quality side and will adapt to the conditions quickly. If Osborne Park can be in front or within a handful of shots at 20 ends, I feel they will win. If North Beach can jump then and get a 20-30 head start at 20 ends, they should be able to hang on. I actually think Osborne Park will be in the area and then go away and win well
Osborne Park 7-1

BASSENDEAN v MOSMAN PARK

BASSENDEAN
D Nicholls, A Smith, D Killisch Von Horn, A Elmer
S Davies, L Pike, L McKay, W Neilson
D Rhodes, C Margin, M Simpson, B Manton
S Alden, S Fewster, R Kenyon, M Whitely
INS: No change
OUTS:

MOSMAN PARK
P Daley, C Edson, D Adams, N Edson
C Hoffman, A Gryta, T Cranswick, M Robertson
D Marsland, P Fair, O Dawson, R Kershaw
L Beurteaux, W Tan, B Hoffman, M Van Bemmel
INS: R Kershaw, M Robertson
OUTS: S Swanson, M Bigg

Our final sees my club Bassendean taking on Mosman Park at home. People will probably see this as the easiest game of the round to select, we had a good win last week away from home at Osborne Park and Mosman Park won as expected against Warnbro. But our home record this year hasn't been impressive. It is a 2-4 record at Bassendean, one which can be exposed by Mosman Park. Mossies have won 3 games this year but 2 of them against Warnbro and the huge win over Doubleview. No changes at Bassendean and 2 for Mosman Park - Bigg and Swanson out and Kershaw and Robertson in.
I'm hoping we can win this one. With Manning and South Perth duking it out we have the opportunity to grab 3rd spot with a win here and keep Kardinya at bay. Mosman Park only sit 10.5 behind 8th placed North Beach. Should Mosman Park win and North Beach lose, they play each other in Round 15 in which might be a huge game for both sides.
Basso of course!
