A very interesting round with mostly even contests as we reach the business end of the season. The bottom 3 are all but decided while all other positions could change with a really tight tussle to avoid 7th position, any of Kalamunda, Yokine, Mundaring or Doubleview are candidates for the relegation playoff. Quinns are probably assured of being top while either Swan or Mt Lawley could finish 2nd. It will be a fascinating end to the season.

Quinns will be out to revenge their loss at home to Mt Lawley in the first round but I have been told that John Berecz is unavailable as he will be on his honeymoon. Congratulations from all of us John. With our top skipper, whose rink has been in sensational form, being absent this game really opens up for Mt Lawley who harbour hopes of a top two finish, 12 points from top with just 4 rounds to go is a bridge too far. Quinns have been unbeaten since the break, Mt Lawley have loss two that were unexpected but did beat Swan last game away. Have Quinns got the depth to cover Berecz, will Mt Lawley be at their best, very hard one to pick. A Quinns win will all but assure them of top of the table but they did drop late games last year.

Swan slim hopes of finishing top depend on them winning their final 4 games and hope that Quinns drop two. North Beach have failed to fire in 1 blue, on paper they are strong but it has not just happened on the green. A big home ground advantage to North Beach if they play on the really quick synthetic, Swan did lose at Mundaring two games back and I am tipping an upset.

OUTS: W Molloy, R Leed

Currently sitting 6th and 7th both need the points. Doubleview have included Scott Edmonds as a skipper this week, his experience and bowls could make a significant impact on the outcome. Mundaring were thrashed by Quinns last game while Doubleview beat Stirling, but not as convincing as one would think. Critical game, the contest for 7th is wide open, the loser here could occupy that position on Saturday night.

The battle of the cellar dwellers, one would imagine that win or lose here these sides will finish bottom two. Pride is on the line, 9th is better than 10th. Stirling and Wanneroo have struggled this season, they both had significant player losses in the off season. Wanneroo at home should prevail.

KALAMUNDA v YOKINE

This is a big game, should Kalamunda win and other results go their way they could be 3rd on Saturday night, lose and 7th becomes very possible at season end. Yokine have really struggled since the break, they were top of the table but now sit 5th but just 2 -points from 7th. While Kalamunda are 4th they do have a difficult draw to finish the season and a win here with games against Swan and Quinns to follow is imperative. They will win.
