This week we have three of the top sides playing lower sides which, by the end of the round provided games go as expected, will see a gap between the top 5 and bottom 5. The other games include a bottom of the table clash. The season in panning out as expected, excepting the surprise non performance of North Beach. The mid placed sides in Kalamunda and Mt Lawley have, as it has turned out, have played lower ranked sides which means of course they have yet to play the top sides, they both have very tough draws over the next three weeks.

Quinns at home is a huge challenge for Mt Lawtey who come off losses against Yokine and Swan and will met Doubleview and Mundaring, away, in the next rounds. Quinns suffered defeat last week for the first time and will be looking to rebound with a big victory. As powerful as Quinns have been they still drop a rink most weeks and Mt Lawley's losses have been close.

At the start of the season this game would have been viewed as match of the day status. It is not, North Beach are not playing as they would want, Swan have been very good winning all that they should with narrow losses to Doubleview away and Quinns at home. The record says they are a top 4 side and they will show it on Saturday.

Fresh for a victory against Quinns Mundaring travel to play a Doubleview side which won by 88 shots last week. Mundaring undoubtedly have the biggest home ground advantage but they do seem to struggle away, as evidenced with a big loss to Swan 2 weeks ago. Doubleview is in my top 4, they retain a very strong side and I think they will win easily.

Bottom of the table clash, will Stirling rebound from a massive 88 shot loss. The home ground advantage will help, however Stirling's depth and quality have been decimated by player losses. Wanneroo have been competitive yet most weeks a big losing rink has cost. They should prevail here but even at this early stage these sides seem very likely for Division 2 next season.

The start of a difficult run for Kalamunda who have been good. Yokine is followed by Swan and then Quinns, hard to see any aggregates for Kalamunda there. I expect Kalamunda and Mt Lawley to be fighting out 6th and 7th positions year end, safety or a challenge playoff. Yokine do have the best greens in Blue North, good greens make good bowlers. They have two new quality skippers this year and have developed depth over the past few years in 1 Blue, good both front and back end.
