The Hawks playing at home on their stodgy grass will be too strong for the Mariners. Both teams have recruited strongly, with the Hawks picking up some prized scalps.
They have extremely strong back end players assisted by a steady front end group. The boys from the port city have also recruited strongly, but it looks like they have massive changes from last year. The Hawks finished the year at a great rate last year, so i favour them at home.
Hilton 7-1

This game is quite a bit harder to predict, with some of the Cougars bowlers unknown to myself. But, the addition of Billy Brandsma is a real coup for the boys from the hills. Brandsma winning the Champion of Champion Singles against a quality field indeed.
The Eagles look fairly similar to last season and this should get them across the line at home, reasonably easily I predict. No Steve or Merv Hughes though, but a good spread of ex Premier League players should get them the major share of the points.
Manning 6-2

The Lions never seem to change their personnel very much, with some quality skips in Vandersluys and Newton usually getting them across the line. The Roosters are normally a team of great competitors with a fierce determination to win, so you never know. They have quality skips such as Musulin, Tepania and Simunovich, with the likes of Shroy and Krajncic up front to give experience.
The Lions at home for my money.

Can the Rams travel up to the home of the Ravens and have a win in their first game back in Blue South First? Unfortunately I don’t know a lot of the bowlers at this club, but i do recognise a couple of good skips in Bruce Edwards and Lethlean
The Ravens look like they have retained the majority of their squad, but I don’t see too many good imports at all. It is never easy to win out at Thornlie though, so it could be a long trip home for the 🐏.
Thornlie 7-1

Of all the games, this one looks as though it could be the only contest won by the visiting sixteen. The Millers will be very strong, coming down from White. They have a good sprinkling of quality ex Premier League players to mix with some promising players. Their surface is not too dissimilar to that of Spearwood as well, so that should help the visitors.
South Perth 6-2
