Quite easy to pick Gosnells here especially on their own turf which should give them an edge over the Kats. However, the Kats did well away last year & were very tough to beat on the road. The Kats probably didn’t do themselves justice in their last game so it’s a long wait where they’ll be keen to get stuck into from the start.
Could easily get this one wrong as my head & the stats say Gosnells but I know the Kats want points on the board early this year.

Warwick have freshened up the side after staying out of playoff trouble by the finest of margins. From reports they were probably more unlucky to end up where they finished than bad bowls so I’m sure the break will have them flying out of the traps like they did last year. Quinns look solid on paper & scored for fun last year & if this was them at home I’d probably edge them. It’s the time of year for swooping so watch out so they’ll need plenty of Rocks for the Magpies.

Nothing like a nice local derby to kick off the season opener, there should be a bit of spice in this one. No doubt Warnbro will see it as a reason gap between both sides but the reality is they’re going face to face in 1 White & Warnbro are down some key personnel from last year.
Game on here & it will be a good leveller for Safety Bay if they can grab 2-3pts from this & it gives the rest a nice look at both sides for upcoming Rounds.
Warnbro 7 -1

This is the reverse of the PL fixture & it nearly matches up similar in that both sides have put out a team which mightn’t be their best 16 but with PL commitments changes were needed. From those changes it feels like the Saints have the better balance but it’s close.
If the Saints get off the 1st half they had last year they’ll be delighted & the Lions just need that superb mid season form to grab the big W here, so interesting game.

I’m not totally convinced that the reasonable changes will affect the Mossies as much as some are saying, it’s still a strong unit on paper & this should easily be Match of the Round. Genuinely think this will be a barometer for the other 8 teams & a cracking game to kickoff the season for both sides.
There’s no point talking about PL at the end of the year or reflecting on the playoff hangover when it could be decided by the first game of the year?! Not to talk it up but I just can’t see these 2 sides finishing more than 2 games apart so very excited to see how this one plays out. Very tempted to back the draw & sit on the fence but I’m going to marginally side with the Mossies as they’ll handle the surface just fine & will be keen to get back on the horse.
