Well here we are already Round 5, nearly a third of the way through the season and as it stands right now the ladder is looking quite bunched with the exception of the bottom 3 sides.
That very well could change this week where we see the top 5 sides doing battle with the bottom 5 which potentially could split the ladder in half.

OSBORNE PARK v DOUBLEVIEW

OSBORNE PARK
S Loftus, C Biddle, L Farrell, I Lilburne
C Packer, J East, R Lawrence, M Rollings
N Stevens, T Weir, M Dewson, S Pasalich
R Brown, K Pickering, E Martin, G King
INS: L Farrell
OUTS: G Caffell

DOUBLEVIEW
J Slavich, S Scott, R Haring, L Thorn
C Slavich, A Williams, R Bates, A Wetzler
K McIlroy, S Gosstray, S Cerff, G Faulkner
R Moyle, B White, B Pearce, T Whitfield
INS: No changes
OUTS:

Doubleview, fresh off a morale boosting win last week make the travel to Osborne Park who will be hoping to build on their win last week and get their season going.
The View sitting 3rd on the ladder with 3 wins out of 4 and coming off a huge win will go in with confidence but aware that Osborne Park are a dangerous side and can turn it around in a heartbeat.
For OP they got their season on track with a good away win last week and will look to consolidate that win and continue the climb up the ladder.
However with Doubleview in form and firing after last week I expect the View to get over the line.
Doubleview 7-1

NORTH BEACH v KARDINYA

NORTH BEACH
G Devenish, C Margin, M McConnell, J Clayton
M Douthie, G Crosthwaite, D Anderson, L Mola
M Sweeney, P Walker, M Sear, G Yabuka
J McGinlay, B Gillingham, S Richards, J Post
INS: No changes
OUTS:

KARDINYA
T Krajancic, D Golem, T Cocodis, J Terrell
S Novak, B Henley, T Leahy, C Booth
S Perica, C Stokes, S Vinci, C Vinci
D Rankin, D Comrie, E Gollan, S West
INS: No changes
OUTS:

North Beach continue their home and away puzzle losing away but quite a margin last week, will be looking forward to getting back on their home track and forget all about last week.
For Kardinya, so close yet so far coming away with an aggregate draw against Manning, will be looking to find something to get their season going. They wouldn’t want to 5 games in without a win, but unfortunately I think North Beach at home are a completely different team and should get the win with comfort.
North Beach 7 -1

SORRENTO v SAFETY BAY

SORRENTO
C Lander, R Cunningham, P Morgan, G Murray
D Nicholls, A Elmer, A Walton, M Sharrett
R Butler, P Knight, P Flack, S Mortimer
B Eagles, M Hulbert, F Tyson, G Taylor
INS: No changes
OUTS:

SAFETY BAY
C Owen, B McVicar, J Radford, S McBriar
G Taylor, G Smith, G Hodges, J Hanafee
C Carruthers, S Hide, G Ogg, S Foran
L Piper, R Hall, R Kennedy, S Mulhall
INS: S McBriar
OUTS: Z Boddy

4th v 10th should see a comfortable win for the home side on paper.
Sorrento taking all before them this year, surprising more than a few pundits with 3 wins against 1 loss including an impressive away win at Cambridge last week.
Safety Bay on the other hand a battling to get wins on the board with only 3.5 points through 4 rounds this year, although it must be said they were more competitive last week playing at home.
However Sorrento playing at home and with confidence should win this quite comfortably.
Sorrento 8-0

MANNING v SOUTH PERTH

MANNING
S Knott, N Jones, A Lill, J Angel
L Grigg, A Heal, S O'Brien, M Ellis
D Trewhella, D Downey, P Ker, M Walker
T Mitchell, B Butler, W Hyatt, G Quann
INS: A Lill
OUTS: S Patterson

SOUTH PERTH
D Brown, R Bresland, T Antonio, J Galipo
J Opie, T Kinnane, N Griffin, K Pride
L Such, S Walker, M Biglin, L Moretti
G Pauling, T Alberti, P Davies, D Angell
INS: S Walker
OUTS: J Carter

Game of the round sees undefeated Manning taking on last year’s finalist South Perth in a battle of 1st versus 7th.
For Manning, they seem to be firing on all cylinders and snatching the big end of the points away at Kardinya suggest they are confident and playing with freedom.
South Perth sitting at 2-2 and just staying in touch with the top 4 would not like to lose this and lose further ground to the top 4 so for that reason I think South Perth will get over the line in a close one.
South Perth 6 – 2

MOSMAN PARK v CAMBRIDGE

MOSMAN PARK
M Cranswick, J Barry, A Mercader, R Kershaw
C Hoffman, M Robertson, A Gryta, T Southern
D Marsland, T Massang, J Adams, W Tan
A Southern, T Cranswick, S Anning, M Van Bemmel
INS: A Gryta
OUTS: S Swanson

CAMBRIDGE
C Adams, R Bolton, A Foster, P Potts
B Nairn, D Opie, C Wooldridge, D Leeson
E Johannes, C Harris, L Bolton, A Garlick
S Mawdsley, S Rushforth, N Lewis, N Bolton
INS: A Garlick
OUTS: W Manning

Cambridge 2nd on the ladder travel up the hill to Mosman Park 5th looking to avenge their loss last week.
With Blake Nairn and Clive Adams leasing the charge Cambridge at 3 – 1 and just 1.5 points off the top, they are doing what they need to do and keeping themselves in the mix for that final four spot.
Mosman Park, after losing last week, drop back into the midfield mix and will be looking to protect their home ground with a win here keeping in the hunt and away from the bottom half of the ladder.
However, I think Cambridge playing too well at the moment and with a little bit too much back end class will see them over the line.
CAMBRIDGE 7 – 1
