The Millers win the top of the table clash and head into the Xmas break still on top. The Eagles jump into 2nd spot with their big duck egg win with the Lions and the premiers rounding out the 4. The bottom 4 teams its looking like the challenge game is the best they can hope for. Merry Christmas everyone and lets go through the results.
This one looked to be a beauty but it was the Lions getting over the line by 3. 7 points for the home side now equals them with the Eagles in second spot. The break couldn’t come quick enough for the Saints and after such a great start now find themselves 11 points out of the 4. They stormed up the ladder last year in the second half and will need to do it again to play finals.
A great finish to the year for the Knights with a 12 shot win over Cockburn. The Blake Nairn rink recorded another win to finish 2nd on the skippers ladder and Plucka Adams backing them up with a 9 shot win also. Cockburn have been competitive but have only managed 1 win, lets see what they can do in the new year.
Doubleview 89 (7) vs Sorrento 64 (1)
(Charles Slavich 28 - Robert Urquhart 11) (John Slavich 23 - Chris Leggett 17) (Kyle McIlroy 24 - Greg Taylor 15) (Ryan Moyle 14 - Murray Hulbert 21)
25 shot win and 7 much needed points for the View. The win gets them 10.5 points within the safe zone and will need to hit their straps in the new year. Sorrento a little bit closer to safety but will also need to regroup in the new year.
Leeming 65 (0) vs Manning 89 (8)
(Barrie Lester 21 - Warren Holt 23) (Gary Ford 18 - Glenn Pauling 21) (Jim Newton 14 - Scott Walker 23) (Karl Vandersluys 12 - Kristina Van Nierop 22)
Great finish for the Eagles getting all 8 points on the road against Leeming. The win jumps them into equal second on the ladder and will now be focused of a top 2 spot in the finals when they return next year. Leeming really needed to win this and no points pretty much ends their chances of survival.
Mount Lawley 71 (2) vs South Perth 90 (6)
(Ben Leggett 15 - Daniel Penman 24) (Corey Bessant 12 - Graeme Wishart 27) (Daniel Trewhella 23 - Ross Bresland 21) (Jack East 21 - Justin Opie 18)
The Millers have defeated the premiers both at home and on the road and go into Xmas 5 and a half points clear on top. Rooster Wishart finished off with a great 15 shot win to lead the skippers ladder and was backed up with a 9 shot win from Danny Penman. The loss for the premiers drops them back into 4th with the Knights hot on their tails.
