Wow what a round and as it stands it is the Lions on top just half a point ahead of the premiers. The Saints got served a double egg and the View also dished one out in their first win off the season. The premiers and the Eagles face a doubleheader next week but let’s go through the results.
Bassendean 85 (7) vs Cockburn 74 (1)
(David Rhodes 17 - Marc Abonnel 26) (Simon Alden 25 - Dinko Golem 13) (Stein Davies 21 - Tony Krajancic 20) (Wesley Neilson 22 - Josip (Joe) Marevic 15)
The Lions getting the job done with an 11 shot win over the newcomers. The win for the time being sits them on top of the table just half a point clear of the premiers. Big game for them next week when they head over to take on Manning. The struggle continues for Cockburn who are now the only team without a win, lets see what they can do next week when they host the View.
Doubleview 90 (8) vs Leeming 59 (0)
(Charles Slavich 18 - Jim Newton 16) (John Slavich 27 - Gary Ford 17) (Kyle McIlroy 22 - James Bowden 16) (Ryan Moyle 23 - Karl Vandersluys 10)
Boy Doubleview needed this getting all 8 points at home recording a 31 shot win over Leeming. The win gets them out of the beef for the meantime but do have a game up their sleeve. They will be hoping to back this up next week when they head over to Cockburn. Leeming now find themselves in trouble and it doesn’t get any easier as they head to Cambridge next week.
Mount Lawley 90 (7.5) vs Sorrento 56 (0.5)
(Ben Leggett 14 - Murray Hulbert 13) (Corey Bessant 21 - Rhett Butler 21) (Daniel Trewhella 28 - Paul Knight 10) (Jack East 27 - Chris Leggett 12)
The premiers make it 5 in a row and just sit half a point from the top of the table with a game in hand. They will catch that up this week as they play Manning on Friday night before heading to take on the Saints. After the loss Sorrento managed to turn things around playing their catch up game on the Sunday getting all 8 points over the Saints. Big one for them next week when they host the Millers.
Osborne Park 67 (0) vs Cambridge 91 (8)
(Cameron Green 16 - Kevin Crowle 23) (Dale Marsland 18 - Cameron Harris 20) (Ryan Brown 20 - Clive Adams 26) (Segan Pasalich 13 - Blake Nairn 22)
My goodness didn’t the Knights come to play handing the leaders an egg with a 24 shot win. Although still in 7th spot on the ladder they do have a game in hand and will be looking to get right back into the mix when they host Leeming this week. Disaster weekend for the Saints who were also scoreless against Sorrento on Sunday and could be out of the 4 should the Eagles win their catch-up game. Huge game for them net week when they host the premiers.
Don’t think there would have been too much love lost in this one but it was the Eagles walking away with 7 points with their 3 shot win over the Millers. Rooster Wishart chalked up another win but was the sole winner for the home side. After a big couple of weeks both Kristic and Holt just getting over the line in their encounters while Scotty Walker getting over Davies by 3. Huge week coming up for the Eagles as they play their catchup game against the premiers on Friday night then host the Lions on Saturday. The Millers they head on over to take on Sorrento
