(Daniel Brown 37 - Mark Devenny 13) (Eddie Gollan 24 - Marcus Simpson 9) (Kevin McKay 26 - Bradley Cole 13) (Stewart Gosstray 36 - Zac Boddy 10)
Armadale in superb form at home over the weekend with a dominant 78 should win over Rockingham. I reached for the record books but I could not find any but am pretty sure that is the biggest win so far this season in Blue South. All rinks were very comfortable with the closest margin being Kevin McKay by a modest 13 shots over Brad Cole. Armadale are clearly the team to beat and are now well entrenched in top position on the ladder. Rockingham drop to 4th place and whilst it was an away defeat they will walk away pretty disappointed with that score line. They will now need to regroup for next week when they take on Gosnells at home. Armadale on the road to Safety Bay in what should be an interesting encounter.
Dalkeith Nedlands 72 (1) vs Rossmoyne 87 (7)
(Darren Redeckis 19 - Raymond Halse 21) (Jesse Brown 19 - Anthony Churcher 21) (Martin Saunders 11 - Craig Edson 29) (Michael Yates 23 - Wayne Heldt 16)
Rossmoyne make it 3 wins in a row including 2 away wins as they hold off Dalkeith with a 15 shot win and 7 valuable points. The rink of Craig Edson did most of the damage with an 18 shot win over Martin Saunders whilst Michael Yates defeated Wayne Heldt to secure the only point for Dalkeith. Rossmoyne jump to 7th place on the ladder and they return home to take on South Perth next round in what is another winnable match. Dalkeith now in the bottom 2 on the ladder and their season is starting to look very shaky. Next week they face a difficult away match at Kardinya.
Gosnells 95 (7) vs Cockburn 54 (1)
(Lachlan Smith 17 - Paul Brotherston 18) (Mark Beauchamp 19 - James Wylie 16) (Michael Rickard 38 - Brent McMillan 7) (Rue Bishop 21 - Derek Gibson 13)
Gosnells did what they needed to do when they comfortably defeated Cockburn by 41 shots on the weekend. The 7 points secured lifts them out of the bottom 2 however for Cockburn it was the reverse outcome as they join Dalkeith in the bottom 2 positions on the ladder. The big winner for Gosnells was Michael Rickard who defeated Brent McMillan by 31 shots to take care of the aggregate. The only point for Cockburn came care of the consistent Paul Brotherston rink with a 1 shot win over Lachlan Smith. Next week Gosnells are away at Rockingham while Cockburn back on home territory to take on Willetton.
South Perth 87 (7) vs Safety Bay 69 (1)
(Farley Anderson 26 - Steven Adams 11) (Neale Griffin 26 - David Holt 20) (Steve Kelly 17 - Raymond Clark 22) (Wayne Bezant 18 - Raymond Kennedy 16)
South Perth at home took care of business with good wins to Andreson, Griffin and Bezant. The only point for Safety Bay came courtesy of Ray Clark who defeated Steve Kelly by 5 shots. South Perth back in 3rd place and they could be the ones that emerge as the season progresses to challenge Armadale for top spot. That said they do face a tricky away fixture next week away from home against the in form Rossmoyne outfit looking for 4 on the trot. A win in this fixture could really set their season up. Safety Bay back at home where they are normally very hard to beat against Armadale.
Willetton with a couple of 1 shot wins this season but this week they were on the receiving end when they lost a nailbiter by 1 shot to Kardinya. Huge away win for Kardinya and they jump into 2nd place on the ladder. Aaron Gale was the big winner for Kardinya by 13 shots over Justin Wright while Gavin Dodge secured a point for Willetton with a 9 shot win over Freddy Flintoff. Kardinya starting to look good and they will start warm favourites next week when they return home to take on Dalkeith. Willetton on the road to Cockburn in what is a must win for both teams.
