Happy New Year fellow bowlers and we are back for the second half of the Season. Mt Lawley currently leading the field with the next 6 teams all fighting it out for a spot in the finals. We have 3 teams trying to hang on to avoid relegation so let’s have a look at this week’s fixtures.

OUTS: C Lander, B Lucas, G Taylor

We head to the bottom of the table first up with Nth Beach hosting Sorrento. Nth Beach returning to their good home form in the last round with a win over Manning and can close the gap with a win here. Sorrento have some work to do here if they want to stay in Premier. Lander and Loftus have departed, and they don’t have the easiest of runs home playing both Joondalup and Nth Beach away. Hopefully the break has given Sorrento time to regroup but I am going to go the home side.
Nth Beach 7-1

This one will be a cracker of a game with the Lions taking on the Knights at the Den. Basso with a good return to premier will be wanting to start off with a win here after a disappointing finish to the first half. Couple of positional changes for the Knights and will be looking to bounce back after the receiving a duck egg in the last round from Doubleview. Nairn misses most of the second half with QLD duties so will be looking to start things off here with a win.
Cambridge 6-2

DOUBLEVIEW v OSBORNE PARK

DOUBLEVIEW
A Williams, J Slavich, A Wetzler, M Hansen
C Slavich, R Bates, B Willesee, G Nelson
R Moyle, B White, B Griffiths, B Pearce

OUTS:

OSBORNE PARK

J Goddard, T Alberti, C Schell, K Carr
INS: A Kriletich, T Vandertogt
OUTS: A Pasalich, C Biddle

Match of the round here and should be a beauty with the View hosting the Saints. Doubleview getting back into the 4 and a win will put some pressure on the sides above them. For the Saints they hit form in the back end of the first half and could jump into the to top 4 for the first time this season if they can get the job done. I’m picking a close one but I gotta go with the home side for the win.
Doubleview 6-2

SOUTH PERTH v MANNING

SOUTH PERTH
R Bresland, R Havercroft, P Davies, J Galipo
S Walker, M Biglin, N Griffin, O Dawson
G Pauling, J Carter, L Moretti, D Angell
J Opie, M Sear, J Wardrop, J Percival
INS: G Pauling
OUTS: S West

MANNING
S Knott, M Wunnenberg, A Lill, J Angel
T Mitchell, N Jones, B Hogg, M Kemp
W Hyatt, A Heal, S O'Brien, J Butler
C Packer, B Butler, P Ker, J Titheradge
INS: M Kemp, W Hyatt
OUTS: D Downey, L Grigg

3rd vs 7th but only 2 points separate them as the Millers host the Eagles. Sth Perth have 6 home games in the second half so a real good opportunity for them to once again push for the flag. For Manning I’m picking them to have a strong finish to the season so the early rounds will be the key if they want to push for their 3rd straight premiership. With the return of Glenn Pauling back into the line up for the Millers it’s the home side for me.
Sth Perth 6-2

MOUNT LAWLEY v JOONDALUP

MOUNT LAWLEY
C Bessant, J Bessant, G Herriot, K Cornell
M Masel, A Einfeld, P Jones, C Ruwoldt
D Rowland, T Ingram, A Elmer, K Scott
D Trewhella, S Loftus, P Sinden, A Graham
INS: C Ruwoldt
OUTS: C Green

JOONDALUP
C Leggett, J Hunter, S Niven, F Tyson
W Neilson, J Buchanan, M Korycin, T Vlahos
B Leggett, S Deering, P Kain, W Clatworthy
S Rixom, J Groves, P Daley, C Bell
INS: J Buchanan, T Vlahos
OUTS: E Dardengo, M Cheesman

Mt Lawley Hosting the Dolphins to finish out the 1st round. Mt Lawley will be looking for a win here to remain at the top of the table. For the Dolphins they are coming off 2 wins and although their team is unknown, I’m assuming Jimmy Buchannan will be making his return which will be a huge in for them. Only 3 home games for Mt Lawley so they can’t really afford to have a hiccup on their home track, but I think they will be too strong for the Dolphins.
Mt Lawley 7-1
