Another weekend ahead of us and after the weather of the previous few days almost balmy weather for this weekends matches.
We probably won’t need the wet weather gear but conditions should be conducive for some great matches.
It looks like another week where the home teams are all well placed to record some wins but let’s see how each match looks
KALAMUNDA v THORNLIE

KALAMUNDA
I Cornthwaite, D Park, B Farrant, D Connell
W Olive, A Bartlett, S Anning, M Thomas
D Wooltorton, P Keating, G Trevaskis, B Solly
B Brandsma, M Gill, A Brandsma, M Clancy
INS: S Anning
OUTS: V Hughes

THORNLIE
E Gollan, R Carruthers, P Riggio, A Payne
J Stean, N Holden, C Penaluna, J Mitchell
M Yates, G Vaughan, J Thorn, P De Meuse
D Slade, M Separovich, M Forrester, A Williams
INS: R Carruthers
OUTS: L Curtis

Kalamunda hitting the proverbial brick wall in recent weeks and will need to get back on the winners list in order to hold 2nd spot. Back at home they will start warm favourites but Thornlie have been on the improve and I expect a pretty good effort this week. With Gollan back playing good bowls, the Slade rink in good form and Michael Yates always very competitive they will certainly take it to Kalamunda. But Brandsma and his rink have been superb this season and have lead the way and almost look untouchable. There is just too much talent across their side and I think Kalamunda will bounce back strongly this week and record a comfortable victory Selection
Kalamunda 7-1

VICTORIA PARK CARLISLE v ROCKINGHAM

ROCKINGHAM

R McIlveen, P Villa, I Barrett, S Wales
L Atkins, G Roberts, I Wright, D Poole
M Simpson, S Currie, T Threlfall, K Fyles
INS: S Wales
OUTS: F Smith

Rockingham are a talented side and with the recent Kalamunda form slump now have some prospects of getting to 2nd place on the ladder. But to do so they will need to win the majority of matches and the push starts with this weeks match against top of the table Vic Park away from home. After a defeat in Round 1 Vic Park has been superb and have dominated virtually all opposition. At home and with all rinks in good form Vic Park should be too strong for Rockingham and I expect another comfortable win from the home side.
Vic Park 7-1

FREMANTLE v KARDINYA

FREMANTLE
P Wachmer, B Sumich, N Mulligan, B Wright
S McCormack, J Chessell, A Gale, E Lacy
D Golem, J F Stewart, M Conway, R McGuffie
K Atkins, B Ciccotosto, F Pensabene, N Gaspar
INS: J F Stewart, N Gaspar
OUTS: R Ireland, D Regan

Huge match here for Fremantle. Their season is on life support and they will need to start winning as many matches as possible if they are to have a chance of surviving. This week represents the perfect opportunity with home game against Kardinya. They have back club stalwart Jim Stewart who goes straight back into playing 3 to the Master Dinko Golem. Kardinya’s form has been a bit patchy with some good results at home but not too much away from home. I am going to get on the Freo bandwagon and expect that they will come out this week all guns blazing and record a close win on the weekend.
Fremantle 6-2

WARNBRO v DALKEITH NEDLANDS

WARNBRO
L Strange, J Radford, T Williams, S Christie
T Dellar, K Cousens, T Lutey, D Kimberley
B Kalinowsky, D Watson, L Blechynden, D Fitzpatrick
Dr G Jackson, M Wilson, B McDougall, L Kellow
INS: T Dellar, M Wilson, L Kellow
OUTS: B Taylor, G Watts, P Hartnett

DALKEITH NEDLANDS
L Richardson, K Allan, R Rose, R Kelly
M Saunders, M Green, T Allen, P Jeanes
Jesse Brown, D Fitzgerald, D Hyde, B Owen
A Foster, D Redeckis, S Gazia, M Joyce
INS: K Allan, S Gazia
OUTS: M Zusman, R Moran

Warnbro are in a similar position to Freo and will need to start winning as many games as possible to make sure that they can get to safety by season’s end. Dalkeith also on the precipice and in a very tight ladder will also need to keep winning. This game looks set up perfectly for Warnbro returning home and on paper they look to have a strong team selected. Dalkeith have been a bit of a surprise packet and were able to travel to Rockingham and record a narrow win. But this week looks tough for them with a couple of key outs in Mike Zusman and Rob Moran that will really test Dalkeith;s depth. I think Warnbro pretty comfortably in the end.
Warnbro 7-1

FORRESTFIELD v SOUTH PERTH

FORRESTFIELD
J Weppner, C Holland, T Tillemans, F Gore
B Wicks, M Garner, J Forrest, H Rabey
R Tillemans, M Vatri, L Stedman, L Delcaro
R Cummings, R Carr, J Tillemans, D Croft
INS: D Croft
OUTS: A Keegan

SOUTH PERTH
M Petrich, P Holmes, R Negus, J Cunningham
S Kelly, F Anderson, D Reagan, S West
D Mortley, G Reagan, B Roelefs, G Bovell
W Bezant, T Percival, J Terrell, S Masterson
INS: B Roelefs, S West
OUTS: D Aslett, P Brown

South Perth also under considerable pressure to start winning and they face a real test against Forrestfield away from home. The experienced Westy returns this week together with Roelofs and this will help strengthen the South Perth side. But they are up against some quality opposition in Forrestfield who are well and truly in contention for a finals spot. I expect South Perth will be in the game for a long way but Forrestfield will be too strong in the end.
Forrestfield 7-1
