No changes after we were heated off for the second time this year and we are now getting down to the business end of the season. The top 4 teams all having to play 2 fellow top 4 sides with South Perth having the advantage being on top and playing both of those at home while Mt Lawley having both away. Manning can’t afford a slip up but they do have the best run home as they play 4 of the bottom 5 teams. Still up in the air as to who will survive but it’s all to play for in the last 4 rounds now let’s go through this week matchups.
SORRENTO v CAMBRIDGE
SORRENTO

Sorrento returning home to take on the Knights this week. They will be looking for as many points as possible as they only have 1 more game at home after this and would want to be safe before they head to Joondalup in the last round. Cambridge would not be happy missing out on 2 home fixtures due to the heat but have been very solid away this year and will be looking to continue their good form as the hunt for the finals. Sorrento will give themselves a good chance here but I’m going to go the visitors on this occasion.
Cambridge 6-2
NORTH BEACH v MOUNT LAWLEY
NORTH BEACH

M Douthie, G Devenish, G Watson, G Yabuka

D Trewhella, S Loftus, A Einfeld, P Park INS: P Park OUTS: A Graham
I’m going to give this one the match of the round as it’s a big game for both sides. Nth Beach have been all over the shop at home this season, and if they are any hope of hanging on to premier they have to win this game. For Mt Lawley, not ideal for them not getting to host Sorento last week and are now faced with another 3 games in a row on the road. If the Mounters lose this, they will have a bit of work to do to hang on as they have Sth Perth then Doubleview to follow. Nth Beach it wouldn’t surprise me if they won 7-1 or lost 8 nil here but it’s just a bit too hard to pick them so I’m going to go the away side.
Mt Lawley 6-2
MANNING v OSBORNE PARK
MANNING
S Knott, M Wunnenberg, A Lill, J Angel
T Mitchell, N Jones, S O'Brien, M Kemp

OSBORNE PARK
J East, D Marsland, C Orchard, C Biddle
S Pasalich, K Pickering, G Caffell, C Alberti
S Mawdsley, R Brown, A Pasalich, T Massang
J Goddard, T Alberti, C Schell, K Carr INS: T Massang OUTS: T Vandervogt
Manning back at home this week to take on the Saints. If they can get the job done here they have the last 3 rounds against the bottom 3 sides. I don’t think they can afford a hiccup but will need to be on their game. Cody Packer comes back into the line up and Hyatt is back out. For the Saints their season is over but will be wanting to just about end finals hopes for the eagles. Young Segan Pasalich getting his first crack at the skipper’s role to possibly get him ready for next season. The Saints will go for this as there is no pressure on them but I gotta go Manning they just have too much to play for.
Manning 6-2
SOUTH PERTH v BASSENDEAN
SOUTH PERTH
G Pauling, M Biglin, L Moretti, D Angell
R Bresland, R Havercroft, J Galipo, S West
S Walker, P Davies, N Griffin, O Dawson
J Opie, M Sear, J Wardrop, J Percival INS: S West OUTS: J Carter
BASSENDEAN
D Rhodes, S Jocelyn, M Watson, L McKay
R Kenyon, M Whitely, A Southern, B Tie
T Kinnane, S Alden, R Ellis, T Alden
W Neilson, L Pike, G Stokes, D Snelgar INS: L McKay OUTS: P Hutchinson
Huge opportunity here for the Millers as they now have 3 games straight at home. They host the Lions and with a win today they will be a real good chance of not only playing finals but a top 2 spot. For Basso it’s been a horrid 2nd half for them, and it doesn’t get much better as they have 3 of the top 4 sides remaining. The Millers have been too good at home this year, I can’t tip against them.
South Perth 7 -1
DOUBLEVIEW v JOONDALUP
DOUBLEVIEW
A Williams, J Slavich, A Wetzler, M Hansen
C Slavich, R Bates, B Willesee, G Nelson
R Moyle, B White, B Pearce, B Griffiths
K McIlroy, T Whitfield, S Cerff, G Faulkner INS: B Pearce OUTS: D Cosgrove
JOONDALUP
C Leggett, J Groves, T Vlahos, M Cheesman
W Neilson, M Korycin, B Cody, F Tyson
B Leggett, S Deering, P Kain, W Clatworthy
P Daley, S Niven, J Hunter, C Bell INS: B Cody OUTS: J Buchanan
Our final game of the round sees Doubleview against the Dolphins. The View have been going great guns since the return of Chevy and will be looking at a possible top 2 spot with a good win here today. As for the Dolphins the weather Gods have not been kind as they have also missed out on 2 home fixtures to which could have a massive impact when it comes to survival at the end, especially if they get a duck egg and I think they just might.
