Well Kalamunda just need to need the win this week to get things back on track and try and leave themselves in a position to reclaim 2nd spot on the ladder. Finishing the season with matches against Fremantle and South Perth gives them a great opportunity although South Perth away in Rd 18 will not be easy. On paper the side looks good but they have been over reliant of the Brandsma rink throughout the season. For Fremantle it has been a very disappointing season and they look destined for 2nd division. But might they have one last throw of the dice and cause the upset this week. I don’t think so and expect Kalamunda to enjoy a pretty comfortable win.
Kalamunda 7-1

VICTORIA PARK CARLISLE v WARNBRO

Dr G Jackson, T Ball, B McDougall, P Hartnett
INS: L Strange
OUTS: L Blechynden

Our premiers take on Warnbro at home this week and although they have nothing on the line I still expect them to record a comfortable win. I am told that Vic Park President Patty Keefe has ordered afternoon tea to celebrate the great season and he has a brief 20 minute speech planned to recap the season at the half way stage of this match. Warnbro on fire at home in recent weeks but in general they still struggle away from home. There side looks a lot better with Lindsay Strange on board this week but whilst they will be competitive I expect Vic Park will walk away with a comfortable win.
Vic Park 7-1

THORNLIE v SOUTH PERTH

S Kelly, F Anderson, B Roelefs, S West
D Mortley, G Reagan, D Reagan, G Bennett
W Bezant, T Percival, J Terrell, S Masterson
INS: No changes
OUTS:

I am giving this match game of the day status. So much riding on this one for both sides. A win for South Perth would go along way to getting them out of the bottom 2 spots. A win for Thornlie would help get them further space between themselves and 7th place on the ladder and still give them and outside chance for 3rd if results went their way. South Perth are doing everything possible to give themselves a chance and they will be desperate for at least some points and take their season to Round 18 and their final home game. But Thornlie have been good in recent weeks and I expect them to come out on top in a hard fought match.
Thornlie 6-2

ROCKINGHAM v KARDINYA

C Vinci, L Phillips, R McNamara, S Garner
INS: B Regan, R Jones
OUTS: S Vinci, W Lee

Kardinya now in 2nd after some great wins in recent weeks. Rockingham have been thereabouts all season a but have been hurt by a series of close losses. They will need a win here to give them a shot at finals and they have a great chance at home. A win here and then a match against Dalkeith in the final round could still get them into the top 3. But Kardinya are now made of tough stuff with tough as teak Norm Ball leading the way. After a poor bowl in a recent pennant match onlookers were stunned to see Norm drop and do a quick 20 push ups as punishment. Will this be enough - another close match and I am going to tip an upset in this one and believe Kardinya will get over the line in a close one.
Kardinya 5-3

FORRESTFIELD v DALKEITH NEDLANDS

M Saunders, R Stapleton, T Allen, P Jeanes
Jesse Brown, M Zusman, S Gazia, B Owen
A Foster, D Redeckis, D Fitzgerald, M Joyce
INS: No changes
OUTS:

With a log jam at the top of the table Forrestfield will have there eyes on a big collect this week. Dalkeith have been competitive in most matches this season but this is a big test for them this week. A win looks difficult but a couple of points could prove invaluable in terms of keeping South Perth at bay. Forrestfield are an emerging side and they will be too good for Dalkeith on the weekend.
Forrestfield 7-1
