Second last round of the season sees the top 4 sides doing battle with each other. The top 2 both have the home fixture and a win for them will guarantee them 2 cracks in the finals. The Knights with the tougher of the draw as they have the top 2 sides to play but do have an aggregate up their sleeve. Mt Lawley just hanging on to 4th spot with the premiers hot on their tails just 1 point behind. Still very close down the beef end but Sorrento 5 points clear heading into this week and a win should just about see them safe. Its all to play for now let’s get into the fixtures.

Match of the round with the top of the table Doubleview hosting Mt Lawley on Friday night. A win for the home side will see them finish in the top 2 and looking to get a home final when they head to Cambridge for the last round. For the Mounters who have lost their last 3 I think they will need to win this if they hope to play finals especially if Manning get over the line. Masel and Jones coming back into the line up for the visitors and will need to play this game as though it’s a final. With Moyle, Slavich and McIlroy all in the top 6 skippers plus the impact that Chevy has had coming back I gotta go with the home side here.
Doubleview 7-1

Sorrento with their last home game for the season as they host the defending premiers. If they can make it 3 in a row home wins it should be good enough to hold onto premier. Manning have a real chance here, with 2 of the top sides guaranteed to lose they could jump into the 4 with a win here. Both their seasons could be on the line here but I’m going to go with the Eagles
Manning 6-2

The Saints with the tough gig of heading to the ice rink to take on Nth Beach. If they can beat the home side and results go their way they can still push for finals when they host Sth Perth next week. For Nth Beach its their last home fixture and it’s a must win for them to try and hang on. Again it wouldn’t surprise either way of the result but I’m just going to go with the home side.
Nth Beach 5 -3

Very interesting game here as the Lions host the Dolphins. Basso have only had two wins at home this season and their last one was way back in round 4 when they beat Sorrento. They are however 12 points out of the relegation zone but would still really want to win this one as a lost could make it interesting going into the last round. For the Dolphins its all to play for here. They do have the better of Basso in the last handful or so times they’ve played and if they get the chocolates today they have every chance to get out of relegation when the host Sorrento next week. I think once again it will come down to the rink of young Ben Leggett to determine the result and if so I think they could walk away with the win
Joondalup 6-2

SOUTH PERTH v CAMBRIDGE

SOUTH PERTH
G Pauling, J Carter, L Moretti, D Angell
R Bresland, M Biglin, R Havercroft, J Galipo
S Walker, P Davies, N Griffin, O Dawson
J Opie, M Sear, J Wardrop, J Percival

OUTS:

CAMBRIDGE
C Harris, S Rushforth, D Leeson, G Allen
M Sweeney, B Gillingham, A Tennant, R Bolton
C Adams, J Conway, D Jones, P Potts
P Harris, A Drayton, N Lewis, L Bolton
INS: S Rushforth
OUTS: W Manning

A top 2 finish also on the line as the Millers host the Knights. With a couple of changed fixtures and the heated off games this is about the 28th home game in a row for Sth Perth. Cambridge also can finish in the top 2 with a win today but a loss could see them a bit vulnerable as they host Doubleview next week. Sth Perth have been really strong at home all year and I think they will get over the line today.
Sth Perth 6-2
