A big weekend of bowls action with 2 fixtures to be played. All teams will be keen to get some points on the board and no team will want to be behind the 8 ball with 3 rounds down already come Sunday evening. Some interesting matches to be played with the highlight clearly being the Vic Pack vs South Perth clash. Will be great to see Australian player Ben Twist in action and it wasn’t that long ago that Twist picked up a Silver medal in the most recent Comm Games. On Sunday Vic Park play Forrestfield and I am sure they and South Perth will lift a notch given the challenge that awaits. Good luck to all teams and I am sure we will have some tired players come Sunday night.

Big weekend for Forrestfield after after banking 8 points in round 1. Firstly the strong Kalamunda outfit at home followed by a clash with Ben Twist and the Vic Park side away from home on Sunday. I am sure that Forrestfield will fancy there chances at home however the Kalamunda team also made a strong start to the season with a great win over Vic Park in Rd 1. Looking at the Forrestfield side the Tillemans boys should be able to surround the opposition at some point - are apparently referred to as the Daniher's of the bowls world. Would love to see them all play in the same rink at some point during the season - just need one more. Expecting an entertaining match between these two teams but the class of Kalamunda should enable them to get over the line in a close match.
Kalamunda 6-2
KARDINYA v DALKEITH NEDLANDS

A Foster, D Redeckis, P Jeanes, M Joyce INS: J Brown OUTS: I Day
Another two winners from Round 1 will clash in this match. Dalkeith started the season strongly with a win over Thornlie and have been strengthened by the return of Jesse Brown who comes straight back into the skippers position. Kardinya performed well last week knocking off a strong South Perth team away from home. A look at the Kardinya team shows a very experienced outfit with many of the back end players having seen regular Premier League action in the past for the Kats. Am expecting another close match but need to go with the home team given the strong home ground advantage.
Kardinya 6-2
ROCKINGHAM v FREMANTLE
ROCKINGHAM

J Smith, B Sumich, N Gaspar, N Mulligan INS: J Smith, B Sumich, D Piromalli, J Chessell OUTS: J Pensabene, S Shuttleworth, F Pensabene, P Wachmer
Two teams who both failed to salute in Rd 1. Rockingham acquitted themselves well in there return to Blue South going down narrowly whilst Fremantle despite numerous changes to their team from last season were also competitive in a close match. Another 4 changes to the Free team for this week with Peter Wachmer a huge out but can the strong rink of Dinko, Jimmy, Cicca and Piromalli lift the Free boys to a win. Both teams will be desperate for a win. I’m tipping an upset and believe the Rockingham boys will be too strong at home and record their first win for the season.
Rockingham 6-2
THORNLIE v WARNBRO
THORNLIE
D Slade, J Stean, P Riggio, A Payne
N Holden, R Carruthers, M Forrester, P De Meuse
E Gollan, G Vaughan, J Thorn, A Williams
M Yates, M Separovich, C Penaluna, D Cooper INS: D Slade OUTS: E Hogarth
WARNBRO
J Radford, M Jaworski, B Taylor, S Christie
T Dellar, K Cousens, B Regan, D Kimberley
B Kalinowsky, D Watson, T Goodman, D Fitzpatrick
Dr G Jackson, A Henneker, T Ball, P Hartnett INS: S Christie OUTS: L Kellow
Thornlie will be keen to bounce back after a loss to Dalkeith in Rd 1. Back on their favoured home surface they will go in as favourites against the victorious Warnbro Rd 1 team. However Warnbro should come in with some confidence and should not be too bothered by the Thornlie green. The skippers battle looks interesting with Slade, Holden, Gollan and Yates up against Radford, Dellar, Kalinowski and Dr G. I think this is a better Warnbro outfit when compared to last season however Thornlie at home have a great record and I have to tip them.
Thornlie 6-2
VICTORIA PARK CARLISLE v SOUTH PERTH
VICTORIA PARK CARLISLE

D Florance, M Simms, P Freund, C McKay INS: B Twist, M Adams OUTS: P Long, C Simms
SOUTH PERTH
M McRae, T Reid, R Negus, J Terrell
S Kelly, F Anderson, M Petrich, S Masterson
D Mortley, W Bezant, D Reagan, B Roelefs
P Holmes, G Reagan, T Percival, K Pride INS: T Reid, S Masterson, B Roelefs OUTS: O Dawson, G Bovell, D Calvo
Match of the round here with both teams defeated in Rd 1 and desperate for the aggregate this week. The inclusion of Ben Twist puts a completely different complexion on the Vic Park side. It enables normal Skipper Such to shuffle to the one out and one back trailing position. He should run on strongly from a nice trail. Graeme Wishart has started the season in good form and will be a tough proposition for any skipper throughout the season. Some changes to the South Perth team with consistent lead Otto Dawson back into the Premier league team the experienced Dean Calvo is out and will be a big loss. Should be a great spectacle and hopefully a huge crowd in attendance to watch this match. South Perth will try hard but Vic Park won’t let this opportunity slip.
