With Suchy absent this week on holidays it falls to me to do the preview. We are starting to see some trends already by round 4 and the next 2 weeks will see if those trends continue or if it will be mixed up. Some good games in store as well

OUTS:

MT LAWLEY
C Bessant, A Elmer, J Bessant, G Herriot
D Trewhella, C Green, P Sinden, T Ingram
D Rowland, P Jones, L Kelly, K Cornell
M Masel, A Einfeld, A Graham, P Park
INS: No changes
OUTS:

Sorrento hosting Mt Lawley and both teams coming off a loss which they will be wanting some redemption from. No changes for Mt Lawley and unknown for Sorrento. Sorrento really need to starty winning or their campaign this season will start to become a mountain to high to climb. Before the season this would be a really even match up but the season progressing Mt Lawley have been the form team and will be the ones to beat, despite being away from home. Not sure if you can consider Sorrento at home an upset but I think they will win this one and get their season going
Sorrento 6-2

MANNING v CAMBRIDGE

MANNING
S Knott, N Jones, A Lill, J Angel
T Mitchell, M Wunnenberg, B Hogg, M Kemp
L Grigg, A Heal, S O'Brien, J Butler
C Packer, B Butler, P Ker, J Titheradge
INS: N Jones
OUTS: M Potente

CAMBRIDGE
C Harris, S Rushforth, A Garlick, G Allen
B Nairn, M Sweeney, R Bolton, J Conway
C Adams, B Gillingham, D Jones, P Potts
P Harris, A Drayton, L Strahan, L Bolton
INS: No changes
OUTS:

Game of the round I think here back at home for Manning and they will be looking to make it 4 wins for the year against in my mind the other team favourites for the flag. Although the season hasn’t really panned out that way for Cambridge who have been marginally disappointing so far. A good opportunity for them here to make a stamp on the competition. Blake Nairn surprisingly winless and Clive Adams with only 1 win this season, look for big games from both of those big game players. Outside of Cody Packer who is undefeated, all other skips with the 1 year so far for the year. This game promises to be a corker, I’ll go for the home team just.
Manning 6-2

NORTH BEACH v BASSENDEAN

NORTH BEACH
G Crosthwaite, R Dempsey, T Jones, G Gregson
J Clayton, S Richards, M McConnell, T McMahon
C Margin, G Yabuka, G Barr, B Palfrey
M Douthie, G Devenish, J Bartorillo, L Mola
INS: G Barr
OUTS: J McGinlay

BASSENDEAN
D Rhodes, J Krstic, R Ellis, L McKay
R Kenyon, M Whitely, B Roper, B Tie
T Kinnane, T Antonio, S Alden, M Watson
W Neilson, L Pike, G Stokes, D Snelgar
INS: No changes
OUTS:

Bassendean travel to North Beach in what will be a tricky encounter against a team that plays their home deck very well. While most PL sides are now used to playing there, Bassendean players not playing midweek haven’t been there for a couple of years now. Bassendean a great start to the year and North Beach struggling but their only win this year was at home against the other promoted team from White in Joondalup. Another close encounter in store and removing my Bassendean hat is probably a close win to the home team.
North Beach 6-2

SOUTH PERTH v DOUBLEVIEW

SOUTH PERTH
R Bresland, R Havercroft, J Galipo, S West
S Walker, M Biglin, N Griffin, O Dawson
P Davies, J Carter, L Moretti, D Angell
J Opie, M Sear, J Wardrop, J Percival
INS: No changes
OUTS:

DOUBLEVIEW
A Williams, A Wetzler, G Faulkner, M Hansen
C Slavich, R Bates, B Willesee, G Nelson
R Moyle, B White, B Griffiths, B Pearce
K McIlroy, T Whitfield, S Cerff, L Thorn
INS: No changes
OUTS:

South Perth have slipped under the radar a bit for me and with 3 wins out of four they have had a great start to the season to sit 5th on the ladder and they play Doubleview at home in another exciting encounter. Doubleview sit top but again it might be a game where the team higher on the ladder travelling to a venue may get the loss. If results go their way, South Perth might be on top after this game. It’s not been a happy hunting ground for Doubleview who haven’t won at South Perth for at least 5 years, despite the player drain they still have some good players and will tip a slight to the home side.
South Perth 6-2

OSBORNE PARK v JOONDALUP

OSBORNE PARK
J East, C Schell, T Weir, C Biddle
J Goddard, K Pickering, G Caffell, C Alberti
S Mawdsley, S Pasalich, A Pasalich, T Massang
R Brown, T Alberti, G King, K Carr
INS: G King
OUTS: D Marsland

JOONDALUP
C Leggett, J Hunter, S Niven, J Carrigan
W Neilson, S Deering, M Korycin, F Tyson
B Leggett, P Daley, P Kain, W Clayworthy
S Rixom, J Groves, T Vlahos, C Bell
INS: J Carrigan, T Vlahos
OUTS: S Davies, B Crawford

Probably our easiest game to select this week as Joondalup looking for their first win in the Premier League come up against an Osborne Park team fresh off their first win of the season. Foor Joondalup to have gone well this year they needed to win games at home and pinch the odd 2 or 3 away – if there was a time to pinch that away win it is now. Stein Davies absent for Joondalup as well sees Chris Leggett take the reins for his first game as skip and for Osborne Park the old master Gordon King is back in. I think Osborne Park should pack too many guns for the visitors though.
Osborne Park 8-0
