Such is back after a couple of weeks away and thank you to Simon for covering for me while I was away. Well summer is well and truly here and we might not get a start this week but let’s have a look at the upcoming fixtures for round 6

Good game this one with both sides getting wins last week and currently sitting mid table. The knights will be going in confident after a great win at Manning last week. Sides not known yet for Sorrento but I can’t imagine there would be too many changes. Even with no Sweeney for this week I’m going the Knights at home to back up last week’s performance
Cambridge 6-2
MT LAWLEY v NORTH BEACH
MT LAWLEY
C Bessant, J Bessant, P Jones, K Cornell
D Trewhella, C Green, P Sinden, A Graham
D Rowland, T Ingram, L Kelly, K Scott
M Masel, A Einfeld, A Elmer, P Park INS: K Scott OUTS: G Herriot
NORTH BEACH
R Dempsey, L Mitten, G Booker, T McMahon
G Devenish, S Richards, G Yabuka, G Gregson
C Margin, J Clayton, T Jones, B Palfrey
M Douthie, R Aitken, G Watson, L Mola INS: R Aitken, L Mitten, G Booker, G Watson OUTS: G Barr, M McConnell, J Bartorillo, G Crosthwaite
Mt Lawley starting off their season strongly but even after a couple of hick ups remain in the top 4, they will be looking to get back on track with as many points here as possible. Trewhella the only undefeated skipper will lead the way looking for another strong performance. For Nth beach unfortunately things aren’t looking flash losing all 4 rinks at home last week and I think it may happen again
Mt Lawley 8-0
OSBORNE PARK v MANNING
OSBORNE PARK
J East, D Marsland, T Weir, C Biddle
J Goddard, K Pickering, G Caffell, C Alberti
S Mawdsley, S Pasalich, A Pasalich, T Massang
R Brown, T Alberti, C Schell, K Carr INS: D Marsland OUTS: G King
MANNING

For me this is the toughest game of the round to pick. The Saints have been on the wrong side of 3 close encounters but a big plus for them as Dale Marsland returns. For the Eagles they seem to be doing better away from home thus far and with ex Saint Cody Packer who knows the greens like the back of his hand will be going in confident they can get the job done. I’m tipping all square at the end of the day
4 all Draw
BASSENDEAN v SOUTH PERTH
BASSENDEAN
D Rhodes, J Krstic, R Ellis, L McKay
R Kenyon, M Whitely, B Roper, B Tie
T Kinnane, T Antonio, S Alden, M Watson
W Neilson, L Pike, G Stokes, D Snelgar INS: No changes OUTS:
SOUTH PERTH
R Bresland, R Havercroft, J Galipo, S West
S Walker, M Biglin, N Griffin, O Dawson
J Carter, S Kelly, L Moretti, D Angell
J Opie, M Sear, J Wardrop, J Percival INS: S Kelly OUTS: P Davies
Match of the round and if anyone would of said to me these 2 would be the front runners after 5 rounds I would of said pull the other one Joe. Both sides winning their last 4 matches after going done in round 1. Basso looking to consolidate top spot as the return home to their billiard tables. For the Millers John Carter gets his first crack at the skippers role in the absence of Paul Davies. The Millers will give themselves a real chance here and should be a cracker game but I’m tipping the Lions to remain on top
Basso 6-2
JOONDALUP v DOUBLEVIEW
JOONDALUP
C Leggett, J Hunter, S Niven, J Carrigan
W Neilson, S Deering, M Korycin, F Tyson
B Leggett, P Daley, P Kain, W Clayworthy
S Rixom, J Groves, T Vlahos, C Bell INS: No changes OUTS:
DOUBLEVIEW
A Williams, A Wetzler, G Faulkner, M Hansen
C Slavich, J Slavich, B Willesee, G Nelson
R Moyle, B White, B Conway, B Pearce
K McIlroy, T Whitfield, S Cerff, L Thorn INS: J Slavich, B Conway OUTS: R Bates, B Griffiths
Joondalup opening their account with a great win against the Saints and will take some confidence going into this week as they return home to take on the Veiw. For the View who currently sit in 3rd spot welcomes back John Slavich who slots into 3 for brother Charlie. Chevy coming back is massive for Doubleview and I think they will get the chocolates
