As the Kats cruise off into the sunset the fights for that 2nd ticket to the big dance heats up with Basso now charging into 2nd spot but yet after R4 they were 1 from 4 but now 2nd spot, crazy year in 1 White. Everyone to 7th are bunched up with only 5.5pts separating the lot.

Again 2nd v 1st but I can't get away with stating this is another blockbuster or top of the table clash. The Kats seem to be playing 2nd spot every week as a new team shows up in 2nd spot weekly. Still it'll be a stern test for both sides with Basso on a roll & Kardinya on a roll that's turned into an avalanche. If Basso lose this they could drop to 5th as the teams chase that 2nd spot hard. They'll need at least 2pts if they drop the Agg but who knows as both sides are the current in form sides.

I like the prospects of The Bay here as they back up after a solid Agg last week. Whereas The View got destroyed by a cricket score at Kardinya with 126 shots ran up against them & not a crumble left on the table with 0pts. Yes it wouldn't be the only time that happens against a side that's running away with 1 White but to only score less than 50 shots is worrying. The View are 0-4 buried to the bottom of the ladder so they'll start to become the target over the coming weeks if they don't get themselves out of trouble soon. The Bay are 3rd but only just & have only won 3 games all season with many tight games in that so they are just surviving without putting many to the sword so I don't think they'll run away with the this one but might nip it late.

The Eagles will be right up against it here but the River Rats know they absolutely HAVE to get the home Aggs on the board & can't afford to lose 1 more home game. Rossmoyne did drop last week but another very tight away performance without getting the chocolates. Manning have back to back away games & 2 loses will drop them down plenty of spots with the memories of sitting 2nd becoming vaguer by the week. Manning are 50% on the road which is very impressive but Rossmoyne might just edge this one.

Gosnells got 1.5pts away at Cockburn last week which isn't so bad & won the week before after 4 losses in a row so they have something to build on here, albeit it's a pretty low bar. Similar for Mossies but they're win last week was a lot more impressive & looked like the Mossies of old. If they can produce that here, they'll go close. Gosnells are home are normally good enough & you'd expect such a performance here given their season is on the line.

GAME OF THE ROUND: Cracker of a game here & gets the game of the round as both sides are very equally matched so this will be a barometer game for Finals.
In a kiss of death. I'm going with the Titans as I just think they know they need to snag a few of these mid-table games to get themselves out of trouble. Actually what was I thinking, I'm changing predictions to the home side as I just rechecked Cockburn away form & as much as it's been down to the last end on nearly every away game this season, Leeming have probably shown more late in the games so far. I would be shocked if there was more than 10 shots in this.
