Great start to the Blue South season on Saturday.
Some close matches and probably the big surprise being Kardinya defeating South Perth away from home.
A big weekend coming up with 2 fixtures so we will know a lot more about each team come Sunday night.
Should be some real excitement over the weekend with Ben Twist coming to town. Well done to Vic Park organising this and I hope both days are a great success for them.
For those people able to assist during the season I have set up an e-mail address to send thru some info that will help with previews and reviews.
It would be great some additional details that could add some colour to the reports.

Good Luck to everyone this weekend.
South Perth 81 (2) vs Kardinya 83 (6)
(David Mortley 20 - Norm Ball 24) (Michael McRae 18 - Ian Barrie 22) (Peter Holmes 19 - Geoffrey White 15) (Steve Kelly 24 - Conn Vinci 22)
Great start to the season from Kardinya getting the Agg by just 2 shots in the end for a 6-2 victory over South Perth away from home in what looked to be a high quality game. The results on all rinks were very close but wins from Ian Barrie and evergreen Norm Ball were enough to get Kardy the points. South Perth will look to bounce back and travel to Victoria Park next Saturday who will be boosted by the inclusion of Ben Twist for this fixture. The Kat’s will next face Dalkeith Nedlands at home in what is looking to be a good start to the season for them.
Kalamunda 87 (7) vs Victoria Park Carlisle 71 (1)
(Dwayne Wooltorton 18 - Graeme Wishart 22) (Ian Cornthwaite 16 - Jonathan Jermalinski 13) (Wayne Olive 29 - Lee Such 13) (William Brandsma 24 - David Florance 23)
Pre season favourites Kalamunda were too strong for Victoria Park recording a 7-1 victory at home. The big winner for Kalamunda was Wayne Olive who accounted for boom recruit Lee Such by 16 shots. My Vic Part spy tells me that an emergency committee meeting was called post game where it was discussed giving Such an open clearance back to South Perth. In the end calmer heads prevailed and in response Such has ordered his rink to undertake some team bonding exercises at the Victoria Park bar this week. Graeme Wishart was the only winner for Victoria Park with a 4 shot win over Dwayne Wooltorton. Kalamunda travel to Forrestfield this week whilst the Park boys will be looking forward to the arrival of Australian player Ben Twist for their 2 matches this weekend. Such will be hoping he plays well and should be exciting to see how this all plays out.
Dalkeith Nedlands 84 (6) vs Thornlie 66 (2)
(Andrew Foster 24 - Michael Yates 15) (John Morgan 14 - Eddie Gollan 25) (Lindsay Richardson 29 - Robert Carruthers 8) (Martin Saunders 17 - Norman Holden 18)
Dalkeith celebrated their return to One Blue with a 6-2 victory over Thornlie at home in what was a great start to the season for them. The big winner for Dalkeith was Lindsay Richardson who recorded a 21 shot victory over Rob Carruthers. The Eddie Gollan/Glyn Vaughan combination were the best performers for Thornlie who will be looking to bounce back at home next Saturday against Warnbro. Dalkeith face 2 tough away matches over the weekend against round 1 winner Kardinya followed by South Perth and this will help see just where they sit against some of the experienced teams in One Blue.
Warnbro 99 (6.5) vs Rockingham 84 (1.5)
(Barry Kalinowsky 12 - Russell McIlveen 41) (George Jackson 29 - Bruce Edwards 16) (John Radford 35 - Marcus Simpson 4) (Troy Dellar 23 - Mark Devenny 23)
When one of your rinks records a 29 shot victory it would normally be enough to help secure the aggregate. Russell Mcllveen and his rink had a day out against the returning Barry Kalinowsky however unfortunately for Rockingham this rink win was offset by a 31 shot win by John Radford over Marcus Simpson. So it was Warnbro at home securing an important win to start the season by 15 shots. Rockingham however showed that they will be competitive this season and will be looking forward to their opening home fixture against Fremantle next Saturday. The Warnbro boys travel to Thornlie in what should be an interesting match.
Fremantle 63 (0) vs Forrestfield 73 (8)
(Brian McCarthy 16 - Jarad Weppner 18) (Dinko Golem 16 - Rhys Tillemans 18) (Peter Wachmer 17 - Rhys Cummings 21) (Shaun McCormack 14 - Brian Barnfield 16)
Fremantle were very competitive on all rinks in their season opener against Forrestfield however they unfortunately walk away with no points. The Forrestfield side would be jubilant with this result however they face a litmus test this week with a home clash against the strong Kalamunda side followed by an away match against the Ben Twist Victoria Park side the following day. So it shapes as a challenging weekend for them, however a win in either of these 2 matches would set the side up well for a strong season. Fremantle will be on the road and face recently promoted Rockingham in what shapes as a critical match for both teams.
