Long overdue, but sickness hit hard the last week or two.
Sorrento 68 (1) vs Yokine 74 (7)
(David Dunstan 14 - Paul Kelly 23) (Lance Martin 11 - Martin Sharp 22) (Peter Augustson 25 - Sid McCann 10) (Trevor Orton 18 - Shane Shaw 19)
This shaped up as a great game on paper. Martin coming back for Yokine might have been the person that tipped the favour for Yokine. Robertson I heard was good on the Shaw rink and this has allowed Shaw to lead the league on the skippers ladder. Shaw sacrificed himself last season to prove a point that anyone should bowl where they're selected, but it is great to see him skipping again. Kelly and Sharp with some nice wins and Box was seen driving straight to a bowls shop to purchase some new lawn bowls. Augustson heard a great game against North Perth other than the last end and he smashed it out of the park again from all reports.
North Beach 74 (6) vs North Perth 64 (2)
(Alan Howe 23 - Markus Merz 15) (Garry Barr 23 - Don Dixon 17) (Jeffery Post 14 - Sally Wilke 17) (Richard Hunter 14 - Benjamin Horwood 15)
A battle of the North's with the Beach side always tough to beat at home and North Perth were missing a couple of key members. Sally stepped up and got a win, against a strong Post rink. Howe beat a team in form in the Merz rink. Horwood continued his fine season with a very low scoring game. Barr with a solid win over Dixon.
Quinns Rocks 101 (5.5) vs Swan 90 (2.5)
(Christopher Parr 39 - Robert Urquhart 18) (Hugh Ward 20 - Peter Hilsz 24) (Shane Smith 20 - Brian Davis 20) (Steve Oneill 22 - Lindsay Sanders 28)
Parr was playing cricket out of the greens scoring 39 shots with his opposition scoring 18, not many one shot ends. The rest of the games were close, but not enough to cover the big Parr win. Quinns stay in the race for a top 3 finish and Swan are still in that danger zone.
Osborne Park 93 (6) vs Wanneroo 79 (2)
(Mark Pasalich 33 - Martin Nievelstein 17) (Mark Rollings 18 - David Anderson 19) (Neville Stevens 27 - Michael Golding 25) (Robert Lawrence 15 - Kingsley Toster 18)
Osborne Park showed me that they're a top 3 potential side rather than where I had them at the start of the season. Wannaroo on the other hand, I am concerned about their results of late. Not sure they're a monty to get back into One White like I thought they may do. A couple of the Ossie Park veterans carried the aggregate in Stevens and Pasalich.
Joondalup 78 (6) vs Morley 74 (2)
(Brendan Cody 13 - Wayne Mitchell 21) (David Webber 31 - Victor Orchard 16) (Mark Ryan 21 - Phillip Leyland 16) (Mike Wyndham 13 - Les Spinks 21)
This was a relegation battle with both teams needing a win to dodge the automatic demotion. Mitchell and Spinks tried their best to carry the Morley team but Webber put up a huge win to carry the aggregate. That maintains his perfect record of skipping with 2 wins and 0 losses. The Spinks rink is in the top 10 rinks, so he is doing his best. Likewise the reliable Ryan rink helped secure a win for the Joondalup team.
