(David Anderson 11 - Steve ONeill 21) (Kingsley Toster 20 - Shane Smith 12) (Martin Nievelstein 20 - Martin Hinchcliffe 21) (Michael Golding 16 - Hugh Ward 14)
This would have been a great place to be a fly on the wall. Quinns needed this win badly to maintain touching distance with the top 3. Wanneroo if they won could have moved into the top 3 but it seemed like a great battle between which rink out of O'Neill and Toster to carry the aggregate for their respective teams. Golding beating Ward would have been a great result as Ward is having a great season.
Morley 70 (1) vs Osborne Park 97 (7)
(Les Spinks 13 - Neville Stevens 25) (Phillip Leyland 28 - Mark Rollings 23) (Victor Orchard 10 - Robert Lawrence 23) (Wayne Mitchell 19 - Mark Pasalich 26)
It looks like Osborne Park are on fire at the moment and putting the lower ranked sides to the sword. North Perth, Quinns and an away game to North Beach are likely to define their finishing position, but they've moved into striking distance of first.
Swan 83 (2) vs Sorrento 91 (6)
(Brian Davis 22 - Lance Martin 21) (Lindsay Sanders 21 - David Dunstan 19) (Peter Hilsz 21 - Trevor Orton 30) (Robert Urquhart 19 - Tim Murray 21)
Swan are around the mark at times but just lack a little depth and the strength of the Sorrento outfit were too much. The Hilz v Orton match was a huge scoring affair with eventually Orton helping to carry the aggregate.
Yokine 83 (7) vs North Beach 58 (1)
(Brett Marron 24 - Jeffery Post 14) (Martin Sharp 14 - Alan Howe 19) (Paul Kelly 22 - Richard Hunter 16) (Shane Shaw 23 - Garry Barr 9)
Even with Yabbi stepping back up to skip, Yokine did not skip a beat and Yabbi was a driving force for the easy win along with an inform Shaw. When you have premier league sides, often sides below can take a hit when you lose the top end talent. North Beach are currently one such team looking to replace some back end talent from their premier side and it is hurting the divisions below.
Joondalup 86 (6) vs North Perth 76 (2)
(Brendan Cody 16 - Benjamin Horwood 24) (David Webber 19 - Anthony Kay 20) (Glen Oakley 29 - Don Dixon 19) (Mark Ryan 22 - Markus Merz 13)
This would have been the "upset" of the round if it was not for the fact Joondalup beat them at their home last time they met. Half of Joondalup's wins have come from beating North Perth. They're huge wins in attempting to dodge relegation. Watching the State Singles on the weekend before, no doubt the wind would have caused some chaos for the North Perth bowlers. Dixon and Merz having big losses for the day did not help their cause.
