Well I wrote the preview and did not hit send it seems, sorry everyone.
North Beach 100 (8) vs Morley 66 (0)
(Alan Howe 28 - Wayne Mitchell 15) (Garry Barr 19 - Les Spinks 18) (Gary Gregson 27 - Victor Orchard 19) (Jeffery Post 26 - Phillip Leyland 14)
Well on their home deck, they smashed the Morley crew and created a gap from the bottom teams. Hopefully going towards avoiding relegation. Spinks is having a good year for the Morley team and he put in a close match against Barr.
Quinns Rocks 72 (1) vs Osborne Park 78 (7)
(Christopher Parr 18 - Mark Pasalich 17) (Hugh Ward 20 - Robert Lawrence 23) (Shane Smith 16 - Neville Stevens 19) (Steve Oneill 18 - Mark Rollings 19)
No rink lost by more than 3 shots, that would have been an amazing day on the green and no doubt a few "what if" moments. Osborne Park winning the aggregate by 6 shots and securing 7 points is huge for their top spot chances. Quinns have been changing elements of their team all season and it feels like it is a wasted chance to go straight back into one white. (Then again the travel for some teams, it may be better to play in One Blue)
Yokine 73 (1.5) vs Wanneroo 87 (6.5)
(Brett Marron 20 - Martin Nievelstein 22) (Paul Kelly 12 - Michael Golding 31) (Shane Shaw 21 - Kingsley Toster 14) (Sid McCann 20 - David Anderson 20)
This was the Wanneroo I expected this season and they may be coming home with a wet sail. Osborne Park and North Perth are happy with this result as they're both within striking distance of top spot. It is going to be a great ending to the season. There are only 5.5 points from 1st to 3rd and every game is critical. Shaw maintains his top skip rating, but Kelly went down large and he is one of the best skippers in the division. Golding would have been a happy man back at the club, carrying the aggregate. Yokine have missed a few backend players from week to week, hopefully they can maintain their full team for the remaining games.
North Perth 87 (8) vs Swan 58 (0)
(Anthony Kay 22 - Peter Hilsz 16) (Benjamin Horwood 24 - Tony Natalotto 9) (Don Dixon 19 - Brian Davis 13) (Markus Merz 22 - Kotuku Engelen 20)
You would hope a top team beats the bottom teams, but North Perth have had a few hiccups against Joondalup, but on the weekend they stamped their authority. Horwood and Kay are in the top ten skippers and having great seasons. Horwood with another big win helped to create space but the aggregate was never really a worry.
This game went roughly as I expected, maybe Sorrento winning a few more points than I first thought. Bowls WA have not released the Joondalup team, so hard to tell what happened. Sorrento are mid pack and are not playing finals and not being relegated. Tey should just enjoy the last few games. Joondalup will want to score a few rink wins and maybe a sneaky aggregate to jump North Beach or move away from Swan and Morley.
