It's been a good weekend for South Perth on the back of a Friday night Round 3 win over North Beach they have gone back to back with a 1 shot win over Sorrento. Looks close on all rinks, it was the 6 shot win to Glenn Pauling which got the job done.
Speaking of good Friday night/Saturday doubles, Mt Lawley have won both their home games and this one over the fancied Cambridge team by 13 shots and 7 points. This sees them on top of the ladder, they couldn't have asked for a better start to the season. Good luck to Blake Nairn as he wings his way to Scotland to compete in the PBA Scottish Open. Again close margins all around but the 7 shot win to Mark Masel and 6 shots to Daniel Trewhella saw the job done.
Doubleview 70 (1.5) vs Manning 84 (6.5)
(Anthony Williams 20 - William Hyatt 20) (Charlie Slavich 22 - AJ Heal 19) (Kyle McIlroy 13 - Thomas Mitchell 21) (Ryan Moyle 15 - Cody Packer 24)
Manning have exerted their authority trying for the threepeat with a very good away win at Doubleview by 14 shots. I know Mt Lawley are 3 for 3 but Manning do look the team to beat again. Cody Packer with his 9 shot win was the star rink but Tom Mitchell also handy with his 8 shot win.
Bassendean 76 (6.5) vs Osborne Park 74 (1.5)
(David Rhodes 20 - Sean Mawdsley 15) (Ruairi Kenyon 24 - John Goddard 15) (Simon Alden 17 - Ryan Brown 17) (Wayne Neilson 15 - Jack East 27)
A real bob of the head finish at Bassendean and a huge final 2 ends saw the home team get the agg by 2. Rhodes who had an unbelievable game carried the kitty for 3 on the 2nd last end to win a game of the ages by 5 and then next door Jack East who had also played an unbelievable game had 2 drives at a clump of Bassendean bowls but missed, Wayne Neilson getting 5 on the final end. East the star rink of the day with his 12 shot win. Good luck also to Connor Biddle as our other PBA representative.
This was the vital game of the day, with the Friday night result for North Beach meant a win at home was vital, likewise Joondalup really needing to get on the board for the season but it was the home team that saluted, a big 35 shot win. Gavin Crosthwaite the 13 shot winner the star rink although Mark Douthie and Joe McGinlay also recording double digit wins. A vital Sunday game for Joondalup now.
