(Brett Marron 13 - David Dunstan 25) (Erron Martin 23 - Leith Oldham 12) (Paul Kelly 19 - Lance Martin 15) (Shane Shaw 29 - Ronald Rogers 10)
Sorrento, having beaten Yokine in the preseason, came into the match with plenty of confidence, but Yokine just came off a win against Quinns Rock (which I predicted would finish top) and they also had every right to feel confident.
Dunstan and his rink had a field day on the greens. The Martin rink rushed out to a 9 v 1 lead and never looked back. Kelly won a close game and Shaw is back to skipping and playing great bowls. The only highlight for Sorrento was watching a wrong bias on the last bowl.
North Perth 86 (7) vs North Beach 54 (1)
(Anthony Kay 22 - Lee Mitten 14) (Benjamin Horwood 21 - Richard Hunter 12) (Markus Merz 29 - Jeffery Post 12) (Nicholas Reagan 14 - Garry Booker 16)
Which North team was the best on the day, well North Perth cruised out to a lead across the board and never really looked back. North Perth are sitting undefeated and the Reagan rink has not won a game this season, that is scary when his rink finally clicks. Horwood is sitting top of the skips table and winning games and that combination seems to be clicking. Post does not normally lose many games, but the Merz rink put him to the sword, with the Swiss champion enjoying a fine day on the greens.
Swan 59 (0) vs Quinns Rocks 106 (8)
(Brian Davis 14 - Steve ONeill 29) (Lindsay Sanders 16 - Hugh Ward 18) (Robert Urquhart 18 - Rohan Cantrill 21) (Sharyn Mercer 11 - Christopher Parr 38)
Quinns back in the winners circle with a huge win against Swan. The Davis rink I find interesting with the swings in fortune. Cantrill stepped up to skip and got a win against the dangerous Urquhart rink, that would have gone a long way to securing the aggregate for Quinns. Parr looked to have a field day against the Mercer rink by 27 shots.
Wanneroo 85 (7) vs Osborne Park 73 (1)
(David Anderson 23 - Lee Farrell 13) (Kingsley Toster 22 - Mark Pasalich 16) (Martin Nievelstein 20 - Robert Lawrence 27) (Michael Golding 20 - Neville Stevens 17)
If you want to finish top of the table and Ossie Park have ambitions to finish first, you need to beat Wannaroo. The Lawerence rink maintains their unbeaten run but a 7 shot win was not enough to cover Anderson.
Morley 100 (7) vs Joondalup 61 (1)
(Kenneth Parks 14 - Mark Ryan 28) (Les Spinks 24 - Martin Cheesman 14) (Victor Orchard 31 - Brian McMurdo 14) (Wayne Mitchell 31 - Thomas Vlahos 5)
Morley would love this win, it feels like a battle to get off the foot of the table and give yourself a chance to avoid relegation. At the moment it seems I miss judging Joondalup's ability and they may be at the bottom of the table by season's end. Mitchell put on a clinic and kept the opposition to 5 shots, while racking up 31 of their own. Orchard also put up 31 shots, it was a big scoring day on the Morley greens.
