(Erron Martin 16 - Markus Merz 19) (Martin Sharp 26 - Anthony Kay 7) (Paul Kelly 20 - Benjamin Horwood 19) (Shane Shaw 24 - Don Dixon 15)
Something different for this division was a Friday night game, I would love to see more of these nights. In the preseason Yokine won by around 40 shots so they were confident going into the game. They adjusted their roster with Sharp taking over from Yabbi. Kelly won a close game on the last end to secure a point, Shaw decided to go ditch to ditch and North Perth really struggled. Sharp gave Kay a former home coming he would like to forget.
Bucky set the Merz rink up for a nice win, with a fine display on seconds bowling.
Wanneroo 85 (7) vs Sorrento 64 (1)
(David Anderson 18 - Lance Martin 14) (Kingsley Toster 33 - Leith Oldham 12) (Martin Nievelstein 19 - David Dunstan 17) (Michael Golding 15 - Ronald Rogers 21)
Wanneroo looking to get straight back up into One White did not allow Sorrento a chance to win, with the Oldham rink being Toasted. The other three rinks were close but they could not make up the difference of the Toster rink.
Swan 80 (8) vs North Beach 52 (0)
(Brian Davis 21 - Lee Mitten 14) (Kotuku Engelen 21 - Richard Hunter 11) (Peter Hilsz 20 - Alan Howe 12) (Tony Natalotto 18 - Garry Booker 15)
North Beach are really struggling and it looks like all the losses for their premier division are really hurting their lower divisions. It is also important to remember that Swan and North Beach normally have polar opposite conditions. Engelen is either moving up from their lower division or has come back? but it was a great skippers effort to win by 10 shots. Hilsz back skipping again was great to see and he got a nice win. Davis and Natalotto the usual skips also got the points on the day.
Morley 74 (1.5) vs Quinns Rocks 86 (6.5)
(Allan Boorer 22 - Hugh Ward 22) (Les Spinks 16 - Christopher Parr 21) (Victor Orchard 11 - John Berecz 30) (Wayne Mitchell 25 - Steve ONeill 13)
Quinns might feel like they missed a chance to gain some extra shots up but they walk away with a close win in the end and 6.5 points away from home is always a great result. O'Neill lost by a large margin but the Berecz rink covered the loss and then some. Ward maintained his unbeaten run with a 22 all draw.
Joondalup 76 (2) vs Osborne Park 84 (6)
(Brian McMurdo 20 - Robert Lawrence 26) (David Urquhart 14 - Mark Pasalich 21) (Glen Oakley 19 - Neville Stevens 18) (Mark Ryan 23 - Lee Farrell 19)
Once again another close match and Osbourne Park move up to fourth on the ladder. You can only beat the teams that you play, but the second half of the first rotation is when they hit the harder teams. Banking some early wins is going to be important if they have visions of a top finish. Lawernce maintains the best record in the division and the only skipper without a loss this season. Good to see young Oakley get a win after last weeks loss.
