Well we are a 3rd of the way through the season and we managed to get through Saturday no problem. So far its been a very interesting season with plenty of surprises but lets have a look at the results.
Cambridge 82 (7) vs Sorrento 71 (1)
(Blake Nairn 32 - Paul Knight 7) (Cameron Harris 11 - Bruce Eagles 33) (Clive Adams 19 - Chris Lander 15) (Pieter Harris 20 - Rhett Butler 16)
The Knights jumping into the top 4 with an 11 shot win and 7 points in the bag at home. The damage for the day was Blake Nairn with an impressive 25 shot win over Paul Knight. This was backed up nicely with both Clive Adams and Pieter Harris recording 4 shot wins. The fine wine Bruce Eagles kept the hopes alive with a healthy 20 shot win over Cam Harris. Sorrento in a little bit of trouble with just the 1 win from the last 5 games but they are a very good side and can’t be ruled out just yet.
Mt Lawley 112 (6) vs North Beach 66 (2)
(Corey Bessant 23 - Geoffrey Devenish 12) (Daniel Trewhella 46 - Ross Dempsey 8) (Darren Rowland 23 - Chris Margin 24) (Mark Masel 20 - Mark Douthie 22)
Wowee what happened here! Mt Lawley with a near 50 shot win and dropping 2 rinks. Daniel Trewhella went bananas and continued on his winning way with a 38 shot thumping over Ross Dempsey. Corey Bessant also getting the job done with an 11 shot win over Geoff Devenish. Even with the win they have dropped out of the top 4 for the first time this season but only by half a point. Nth Beach managing to get up on 2 rinks with Mark Douthie and Chris Margin just falling over the line and you never know those 2 points could make all the difference at the end of the season
Osborne Park 73 (7.5) vs Manning 69 (0.5)
(Jack East 17 - Cody Packer 16) (John Goddard 17 - Shane Knott 15) (Ryan Brown 23 - Lewis Grigg 22) (Sean Mawdsley 16 - Thomas Mitchell 16)
What a cracker this turned out to be and while I picked a draw all 4 rinks were within 2 shots but it was the Saints that came out on top and even though the margin was only 4 it's 7.5 valuable points to the home side. The big winner of the day that carried the agg was John Goddard with his huge 2 shot win over Shane Knott. Both Jack East and Ryan Brown both just getting there winning by a shot with the extra sneaky half point coming from the draw of Mawdsley and Mitchell. Strange to see both these teams in the bottom half but as we know there is a long way to go
Bassendean 75 (1) vs South Perth 80 (7)
(David Rhodes 19 - John Carter SP 22) (Ruairi Kenyon 18 - Ross Bresland 19) (Troy Kinnane 17 - Justin Opie 21) (Wayne Neilson 21 - Scott Walker 18)
Match of the round and it certainly didn’t disappoint but we have a change at the top with the Millers knocking off the Lions at the den by 5 shots and a nice 7 points. All 4 rinks were close but wins came to Opie and Bresland with John Carter getting up for his debut win with a 3 shot win over David Rhodes. Wayne Neilson getting the only point for the home side holding off Scotty Walker by 3 shots. Sth Perth now sitting on top by 3 points and can they do a Manning where if Lee Such leaves you go on to win the flag, only time will tell
Joondalup 69 (1) vs Doubleview 97 (7)
(Ben Leggett 11 - Ryan Moyle 29) (Chris Leggett 21 - Anthony Williams 19) (Shane Rixom 24 - Charlie Slavich 27) (Wes Neilson 13 - Kyle McIlroy 22)
The View getting the job done away from home with a nice 7 points and a comfortable 28 shot margin placing them nicely into 2nd spot. The big win coming from Ryan Moyle recording an 18 shot win over Ben Leggett. Points also coming from Kyle McIlroy and Charlie Slavich with respectable wins of 9 and 3. Chris Leggett getting the only point for the home side with a 2 shot win over Ant Williams
