R6 went very close to predicted with 4 of 5 but not without drama as some of those predictions were outsiders. The table is really firming up now but it’s also a complete anomaly as 2nd spot & 10th spot have BOTH won 2 games. How is that even possible you say, well we’ll try dissect that Friday in the big post R6 predictions to R18.
We’ll keep this weeks review shortly & sweet as we have a huge week ahead with 100’s of predictions to work through for Friday & the predictor machine has blown up trying to work out the benchmarking team & performance since 2nd & 10th have the same amount of wins.
Leeming 75 (2) vs Kardinya 78 (6)
(Gary Ford 19 - Daryl Radford 15) (Graeme Fewings 15 - Matthew Allen 27) (James Newton 17 - Brad Henley 21) (Karl Vandersluys 24 - Steven Novak 15)
Leeming still stay 3rd despite dropping 2 in a row now as the rest bunch right up behind them. Another heavy loss & they could drop to 6th or 7th very quickly.
The Kats are the benchmark side now, as they put the pretenders to the sword in a very convincing manner. 17.5pts ahead & we’ll wait for the predictor machine to be fixed this week but I’d be shocked if it doesn’t award the Kats the golden ticket to the big dance.
Result: Kardinya 6 - 2
Prediction: Kardinya 6 - 2
Gosnells 82 (6.5) vs Safety Bay 61 (1.5)
(Frank Carbone 17 - Graeme Smith 14) (Glenn Lynch 13 - Chris Carruthers 19) (Luke Garbutt 33 - Zac Boddy 9) (Rob Foy 19 - Matthew Mortensen 19)
The Kookaburras ran this one very close to the wire but did enough to get them a huge Agg against a side unbeaten in the last 3 games. Gets Gosnells off the bottom to build from here.
The Bay are travelling well enough lately so they won’t be too disappointed & they’re picking up most rinks out side of Kardinya so that’ll keep them in many games going forward.
Result: Gosnells 6 - 2
Prediction: Gosnells 6 - 2
Doubleview 58 (1) vs Bassendean 87 (7)
(Brandon Heta 24 - Alan Southern 15) (Christopher McKenna 11 - Neil Strachan 21) (David Cosgrove 12 - Stephen Jocelyn 24) (James Barry 11 - Eugene OSullivan 27)
The only result we didn’t predict correctly as Basso rolled The View in comprehensive fashion to drive them up the table leaving Doubleview firmly rooted in the bottom few. Basso jump to 5th & only 1pt off a finals berth in 4th. What a difference a few wins can make.
The View are heading into trouble waters. They’ll need a few massive weeks to Christmas.
Result: Bassendean 7 - 1
Prediction: Doubleview 6 - 2
Rossmoyne 82 (8) vs Mosman Park 63 (0)
(Craig Edson 19 - Mitchell Cranswick 16) (Mark Barrett 23 - Mark Robertson 18) (Rawley Lang 20 - Cameron Hoffman 13) (Walter Harvey 20 - Steven Swanson 16)
The randomness of this season continues & is no more evident than at Rossmoyne. The River Rats were winless 2 games ago & circling an early 1 Blue drain, next minute they win 2 on the trot & sit 2nd on the ladder!!! How can this be possible?
Mossies equally scratch their head as they also won 2 games but are buried at the very bottom of the ladder, go figure. Mossies need rinks wins before dreaming of Aggs & they are not coming as hoped.
Result: Rossmoyne 8 - 0
Prediction: Rossmoyne 7 - 1
Manning 76 (6) vs Cockburn 65 (2)
(Michael Carey 19 - Tony Krajancic 20) (Paul Smith 25 - Michael Simunovic 11) (Sam Perica 16 - Marc Abonnel 23) (Wayne Heldt 16 - William Tepania 11)
The Eagles have 4 wins, that’s more than any other team outside of the Kats yet they sit 4th. A few more rinks wins would easily see them sitting a comfortable 2nd as they only have 9.5rinks but they’re not getting those comprehensive Aggs. The Titans shocking away form continues as they slide back into trouble in 7th.
