Right lets get right into it. I'm sure the hungry has grown over the last 6 months & everyone's appetite is feverous at this stage as the anticipation is almost over. Like a child at Christmas. Let's go R1!!
We genuinely wish all teams and players all the best for a successful, safe and enjoyable season ahead. Stay safe.

Easy home game for Basso to kick off the season or can they possible drop this one to a 1 Blue side?! Ok now we have your attention, let's try to break down the possible outcomes. Outcome 1: the loser of this will likely be demoted upon R18 or possibly sooner. Maybe the above is accurate or may be not but I may be honest in assuming that neither team are dreaming on a genuine chance of PL (could be completely wrong here so let's see). On paper, the Saints actually look the far stronger side so I don't think they'll be more than a dozen in the result.
Likely siding with the home side, purely on the basis that when the chips were down last year & 1 game meant survival or not, the Lions showed up a few times, especially at home. Some may say R1 is just tipping your toe in the water before jumping but not if you miss your season ambition by 1 win or worse 1pt, every bowl counts never mind every Round. Sorry I must say a special mention to welcome Saffronne paired up with father Ted which is a pretty cool little moment worth celebrating, no pressure Garry to not ruin the memory!

GAME OF THE ROUND: Easily game of the Round for R1. Can't wait to see these 2 go head to head. On paper North Beach still look strong but they travel as well as a group of teenage girls getting a taxi from Northbridge early Sunday morning.....they'll get there but it can get messy.
Very contrasting seasons for both sides with 1 coming from 1Blue & the other 1Red, vastly different hunting grounds but both land head to head in R1. Struggling to pick a winner here, I feel if that 1 dominant home rink continue their dominance & get a softer away rink then it’ll be enough…..let’s see if the Reds are truly coming home!!

Perfect 1st game for both ex.Blue sides here. Both sides are likely bell-weather for mid-table survival so this one will be interesting on who's get the chocs. Coincidence that this is the reverse of R1 last year if memory serves correctly & wasn't that a mighty tussle. Lions took it 5.5 to 2.5 but only by 7 shots & the Eagles had all the chances to get over the line.
You’d think the Eagles have it to lose here & should have enough to get over the line.

Hard to read this one with both sides having a tough previous season. Can the Kookaburras bounce back or can the Dolphins turn the tide with a few less skippers to steer the boat.
First side to shake off last years scar tissue gets this one. I think Dolphins might have enough with little loss to the front end to edge this one but it’s likely close.
Warm welcome to Maureen Cooney on her 1 White debut, strong addition on the back end. Good luck to all.

If last season was anything to go by this one go to the Titans by massive double scores. Surely Mossies can be more competitive this season & I kind of tipped them to have a big season so I'll likely have egg on face if this one is double scores like last season.
Going with the home side but a win for Mossies in within 15 shots & grabbing 2 pts would be a solid effort to build into R2.
