Well, here we gooooo. The siren has blown to start the second half of the season and we are poised for a cracker. Less than an aggregate separates a finals spot and a play off spot so things still well and truly up in the air.
Wanneroo v Doubleview
Wanneroo
Ian Collins, Gregory Sarich, Leslie Bryson, Martin Nievelstein
Stuart Binnie, Robert Burns, Echo Widermanski, Pieter Geus
Brian Bucowski, Gareth Hughes, Derek Griffin, David Anderson
Neil Williams, Glen Jack, Harold Whitman, Kingsley Toster INS: Sarich, Anderson OUTS: Beazley, Jefferies
Doubleview
Brent Penberthy, Antonino Gullotti, David Leed, James Barry
Nigel Feletti, Gary Papadopoulos, Winton Langdon, Cameron Bell
Thomas Mainstone, Taylor Pervan, Max Young, David Cosgrove
Fred Williamson, Jarrod Steele, Mark Fredericks, Lindsay Thorn INS: Gullotti OUTS: Bloxham
Wanneroo struggled for form leading into the break and will see this as a great opportunity to get their season back on track and stay in touch with the top half of the table. For Doubleview, it’s been a season to forget, however there’s plenty of games left and a plethora of points still available. They need to focus on winning their home games and grabbing as many points on the road as possible. Cameron Bell has taken to the skipping role well and has been a shining light the last few games. I think Wanneroo will be too strong at home and hop to a comfortable win.
Wanneroo 7-1
Cambridge v North Perth
Cambridge
Andrew Ness, Peter Easom, Scott Palmer, Nicholas Lewis
Geoffrey Jones, Alistair Duncanson, Andrew Garlick, Neil Bolton
Mark James, Edward Leahy, Clifford Wooldridge, Andrew Tennant
Stuart Lofthouse, David Phillips, Wallace Manning, Garry Hawkes INS: Garlick, Tennant OUTS: Henning, Draper
North Perth

Jeremy Matthews, Ruby Leggett, Sally Wilke, Chris McKenna
Michelangelo Italiano, Richard Newstead, Brett Havercroft, Anthony Kay
Mathew McEwen, Chris Niven, Timothy Thomas, Benjamin Horwood INS: Wilke, Niven OUTS: Gray, Struthers
Top 3 clash here with Benny Horwood and his merry men heading to the Stable, where the Knights have yet to be defeated. Both teams look to be at full strength with Andrew Garlick coming in to play 3 for Lord Bolton and Mustang Sally returns to play 3 to Flipper McKenna. Talent and experience across the board here – I think the fortress will remain in tact and the Knights will close the gap on top spot with a win.
Cambridge 6-2
Sorrento v North Beach
Sorrento
Pauline Bourne, Ian Munro, Peter Morgan, Timothy Murray
Gary Bayne, Lily Leach, Richard Bone, David Dunstan
Steve Mortimer, Brian Lucas, Alan Walton, Lance Martin

David Vinicombe, Sandy Stevenson, Gary Gregson, Lee Mitten
Warren Lee, Ed Retallack, Alan Howe, Paul Butler
Raymond Wright, Graeme Mackenzie, John Bartorillo, Jeffery Post INS: Howe, Lee, Bartorillo OUTS: Brown, Buttell, Barr
Sorrento had a fantastic run in the lead up to Christmas, picking themselves up our of the bottom 2 to finish the first half in 5th on the ladder. North Beach are in 8th and need to find some form quickly, otherwise they’ll be playing 2nd division next year. With the Swans finding some form the last few games and with North Beach’s away form reputation, I’m going to pick the Swans to win this one and find themselves on the cusp of the top 3 come week’s end.
Sorrento 7-1
Yokine v Mount Lawley
Yokine
Fred Faigenbaum, Paul Hunter, Martin Sharp, Richard D'Souza
Geoffrey Turner, George Vassilou, Ian Cooper, Paul Kelly
Garry Robertson, John McGrath, Debra Rhine, Shane Shaw
Clifford Wemm, Julie Cooper, Jeffrey West, Wayne Coffey INS: Kelly OUTS: Furci
Mount Lawley

Denham Delmore, Mark Glasson, John Fielding, Carmelo Lenzo
Janice Miles, Jane Lewis, Roman Grochowski, John Cottier INS: O'Dea, Royce, Fielding, Grochowksi, Smith OUTS: Scott, Callison, Herriot ,Park, Erceg
These two teams find themselves on opposite ends of the ladder, but we know in a derby, anything can happen. The Mounters look to be missing some cattle this week with Park, Herriot and Scott all getting a guernsey in the Premier League. As for Yokine, Kelly is listed as a starter, let’s see if that happens and what kind of form he’s in after a spell out of the game. Mount Lawley still have plenty of quality players and will look to get a leg up over their local rivals with a win, however beware the wounded dog.
Mount Lawley 6-2
Warwick v Quinns Rocks
Warwick
Gary Chappell, Colin Shier, Ivan Sparrowhawk, Brian Ledingham
Wayne Wyatt, Declan Wilson, Allan Hornby, Raymond Loran
Kevin Humfrey, William Shand, Clive Boyle, Geoffrey Hinge
Adam Pretty, Andrew Dixon, Glenn Yabuka, Sean Wright INS: Wilson OUTS: Cox
Quinns Rocks
Trevor Hines, Paul Dean, Roger Thomas, Steve O'Neill
Lawrence Johnson, Glenn Mountford, Shane Smith, Neville Costello
John Carrigan, David Eadie, Derek Richmond, Erron Martin
Paul Papadoloulos, Christopher Parr, Christopher Bartle, Hugh Ward INS: Parr, Mountford OUTS: Burrows, Wernicke
Finally, we head North as Quinns head to the Maggies nest to take on a Warwick side who have been impressive this season. The elephant in the room here (no offence Shane) is that the leading skip in the division is playing third. Not sure what the story is here, but I’m sure the selectors know what they’re doing. I see that Parr is also listed which only strengthens a Quinns side who had a good start to the season. Warwick will be pleased with their first half, they’re in the mix and will need to lift a gear to ensure they don’t have to play off to stay up this season. I think Quinns just look a little bit too strong, however Warwick have beaten some good sides at home so far and this will be a great contest.
