Welcome back everyone for part 2 of the one blue south season. A very interesting first 9 matches where Kalamunda have set themselves up to finish top position and secure the automatic promotion position to One White. Hot on their tales are both Rockingham and Kardinya and they will probably fight out top spot but I do favour Kalamunda who have 5 home games in the last 9, The one team that could emerge from the pack in my eyes is the Cockburn side. who also have 5 home games and they will likely start favourite in all 5.
But before we take look at the fixtures for this week it is important to acknowledge the performance of our very own one blue south players in Dwayne Wooltorton and Mark Potente from Kalamunda in finishing runners up in the state pairs that was played over the xmas break. Fantastic achievement by the boys - Dwayne one of the real nice guys in the sport and Mark a real up and comer. Well done Gents!!

Danny Nolan, Mark Armstrong, Peter Feszczak, Reza Vind INS: No changes OUTS:
Interesting game to kick things off. No major changes to either side although I do note another nice guy in the sport, Reza Vind will be taking the Skipper’s chair this week. Can the Brandsma rink continue with their strong form from the first 9 rounds where the secured 8.5 points. Kalamunda will be somewhat wary in that it was at about this time last season that their form tapered somewhat and they will be keen to avoid this happening again. Rossmoyne has work to do in the 2nd half but I am sure that their fearless leader in Mayor Lang will be well rested and ready to pounce on any Kalamunda weakness. The away record of Rossmoyne has been pretty poor this season and I expect that Kalamunda will be too strong at home.
Kalamunda 7-1

Brian Wright, Aaron Gale, Paul Harris, John Rochford INS: Edgar, Henley, Rochford OUTS: Wright, Holmes, Farmer
A couple of significant changes for Kardinya with Brad Henley down from the Premier League side along with another regular PL player in recent weeks in Freddy Flintoff. It’s also been a while since we have seen a Kardinya team without the members of the Vinci family who have been major contributors in recent seasons. On paper the side looks pretty strong. Thornlie has been ticking away quite nicely and are sitting in 4th position. They have a very strong home record and play the home conditions very well. I think this could be a close one but have a slight leaning towards the home team in a thriller.
Thornlie 5-3
Cockburn v Warnbro
Cockburn
Guiseppe Reale, Philip Clarke, Wayne Clegg, Paul Brotherston
David Francis, Marin Sokol, Stephen West, Steve Srhoy

Malcolm Wilson, John Isgar, Jason Pattullo, Dennis Pattullo INS: McDougall, Wilson OUTS: Kellow, Isgar
Great opportunity for Cockburn to get the 2nd half off to a flying start with a home fixture against Warnbro. I do note 4 changes to the Cockburn side which is probably not a good thing and may well leave them vulnerable. The Warnbro team looks to be pretty settled and the speed of the Cockburn green should not really trouble them but the away record in recent seasons has been very poor. I actually think that this may be close but expect that Cockburn will get home in the end.
Cockburn 6-2
Willetton v Dalkeith Nedlands
Willetton
Ron Bayens, Rob Langley, David Reynolds, Cameron Girvan
Peter McSweeney, Ernest Lagana, Ken Monkhouse, Alan Walters
Rhonda Porter, Greg McMahon, Peter Bartoshefski, Gavin Dodge
John Porter, Maxwell Strange, Trevor Thompson, Justin Wright INS: McMahom OUTS: Ruffell
Dalkeith Nedlands
Michael Joyce, Aleksander Gryta, Michael Zusman, Andrew Foster
Peter Jeanes, David Fitzgerald, Michael Yates, Jesse Brown
Ross Mackenzie, Ron Stapleton, Matthew Green, Martin Saunders
Rob Kelly, Simon Gazia, Rob Moran, Darren Redeckis INS: Green, Zusman, Foster OUTS: Allen, McCormack, Richardson
Dalkeith have left themselves in a very precarious position with just 2 wins in the first half of the season. I do note that they look a little stronger on paper with 3 regular 1st team players back in their line up including the well travelled Mike Zusman set for Pennant match number 1,554 which is a fantastic achievement (only former teammate Steve Srhoy has played more). Zusman started his career wearing short pants and a tie each week back in the day when this attire was fashionable and Dalkeith will need him to fire this week if they are to overcome a strong Willetton side. Willetton looking very solid and they rely a lot on the Girvan rink to set the tone each week. Whilst Willetton will start strong favourites in this one Dalkeith know that they need to hit the ground running and I expect a close match.
Willetton 6-2
Forrestfield & Districts v Rockingham

Rockingham
Ivan Wright, Ian Barrett, Mark Devenny, Pietro Villa
Terry Rubery, Rodney George, Graeme Roberts, Bruce Edwards
Fred Smith, Marcus Weston, Victor Arriagada, Lindsay Atkins
Keith Fyles, Tony Threlfall, Stuart Currie, Marcus Simpson INS: Villa OUTS: McMahon
Another interesting match and note that some 4 changes to the Forrestfield side for this match with the Tillemans family going in all directions. Normally not a good thing but with the name R Tillemans on the in list it should be a positive. Rockingham now hot on the heels of Kalamunda and top spot and if they are to really challenge they need to start winning some away matches. This could be their moment but with Forrestfield in very good form leading into xmas this will not be easy. Another close match but expect the home team to just prevail.
