Only 5 games left after this round makes these next few weeks hugely important. The table is probably where it should be at this stage with no team really pulling away at the top & no bottom team making any massive runs. 7th & 8th are likely having a Quick Look at 1 Blue to see what worst case disaster looks like.
Sorry we nearly got through R12 predictions but just fell short, sorry, will complete for review after tomorrow. We do have 2 massive predictions that you may or may not agree with. As a teaser we have changed our prediction for the big ticket & Finals. Who knows after this season but let’s have some fun.

The Reds have their backs firmly against wall & they’re in genuine trouble with 9th nipping at their heels. The Lions are flying & sitting proud atop of the ladder. They’ve a solid target on their back now after maintaining a top 2 for many rounds now. Must be honest & did not have Leeming finish top at the start of the season & may be that’s some scar tissue memory from last year but they’ve absolutely earned it. Lions have been just brilliant this season, led by Van the Man but the full backend have had that consistency in wins & structure all season.
If Mossies & Manning win & the Reds lose this then it’s 2 Aggs behind with 5 to play which would make playoffs best case scenario but also would make it very difficult to consider anything but 8th or 9th which is very dicey. Could they beat the top side, maybe not but if they don’t it’s possibly 1 Blue.

OUTS:

GAME OF THE ROUND: Back home for the home track bullies after a season defining away win leaving them within a reasonable chance of Finals. Not that it gets easier here but it’s a huge game for both sides. North Beach win this 8-0 & they’re 2nd, wow what a few weeks they would have had. Guaranteed finals at that stage & Dolphins would likely loss a significant amount of confidence for top spot especially if Leeming win.
For me if North Beach win & Leeming win then I’m backing Leeming all the way to 1 Red. It’s that big of a game for these 2 but also for Leeming. Dolphins haven’t showed massive confidence on the road so this one should be very close & fully deserves game of the round.
North Beach 7 - 1

Cockburn v Osborne Park

Cockburn
Stephen West, Wayne Clegg, Jim Ricci, Marc Abonnel
Viktor Dropulic, Ivan Mateljak, Josip (joe) Marevic, Tony Krajancic
Brian Blagaich, Mirko Musulin, Dinko Golem, Michael Simunovic
Ian Coyne, Hal Chambers, Derek Gibson, William Tepania

OUTS:

Osborne Park
Aaron Kriletich, Graeme O'Neill, Bryan Hunter, Mark Rollings
George Smith, Ty Vandertogt, Pierre Geenacker, Neville Stevens
Richard Herbert, Matthew Orchard, Edan Manifis, Jeremy Thomas
Shaan Saunders, Kevin Price, Helen Stevens, Pamela Chalmers
INS: Kriletich, O'Neill
OUTS: Grove, Minchin

The Titans barely hold onto 4th by score difference but also apply the same logic for 3rd so it’s a huge game for Cockburn which could define their season.
It won’t be easy for the home side but it’s super obvious what’s needed for Cockburn. They need to get a great matchup on Pam & they win with likely 1 or maybe 2 blowout rinks. If they can’t control Chalmers then it could be a tricky day.
The Titans are so solid at home, yes not unbeatable at all but not having a true solid 4 rinks can really get exposed on these away games.
Cockburn 7 - 1

Gosnells v Manning

Gosnells
Ronald McKay, Stephen Lawrence, Michael Sharpe, Glenn Lynch
Michael Byrne, Rod Worth, Mark Beauchamp, Rue Bishop
Kevin Cragan, Larry Paterson, Mike Rickard, Alex Hodge
Jeff Watson, David Bradbury, Trevor Close, Ian Quayle
INS: Quayle, Close
OUTS: Newton, Gahan

Manning
Otto Dawson, Graham O'Brien, Allan Taylor, William Fraser
Bradley Hogg, Philip Herbert, Slavko (Sam) Perica, Alan Heal
Jared Moulton, Sharon Lynch, Gregory Hogg, Michael Carey
Nigel Rees, Joe Angel, Adam Macpherson, Paul Smith
INS: No changes
OUTS:

The Kookaburras are a win every week away from a dream of another season in 1 White, it’s tempting week after week. Knowing the Reds have a huge game, a win here would possibly get them into a space where they could survive through playoffs. There’s plenty of positions between both sides but yet only 7.5pts difference. A big Agg here for the home side would be simply massive at this time of the season. If they need a game to show up then this is by far the biggest game of their season.
Manning drop this & they’ll be nervous coming into a Home game against Cockburn then a huge double header against the Reds. Can they win on these away road against 9th, you would think so but on the road just hasn’t been what it was last season so slight advantage to Gosnells but can’t see more than a dozen shots in this result, it’s too big of a game to not be a nail biter.
Gosnells 7 - 1

Mosman Park v Bassendean

Bassendean
Gregory Sadler, Alan Britton, Geoffrey Malaspina, Neil Strachan
Robert Sheppard, Dylan Hardwick, David Snelgar, Butch Dinnison
Saffronne Alden, Nick Pleasance, John Holman, Bryan Roper
Anthony Parravicini, Brooke Chaney, Ian O'Neill, Jovan Krstic
INS: Sheppard, Chaney,
OUTS: Davies, Atkinson

Mossies need a big Agg & quickly. Forget about Finals that ship has sailed, its survival time & Basso are no easy beat over the last month.
Sometimes these games can be difficult to call & certainly open to upsets as there’s so much on the line for both sides.
Mossies have still only won 5 games for the season & much of that was at home so they’ll likely be solid favs here but they’re not putting teams away at home so Basso will get a look, it’s up to who wants it more for survival.
