We finally got to our predictions after some work committments got firmly in the way over the last week.
If we were to ask from our previous R6 predictions who was the hottest team from R7 to last weekend, who would you think? My head went straight to Cockburn but they only got 33.5pts, but Manning have have now won 3 on the trot & 4 from 7 for 32.5pts but then after thinking about the North Beach away win & those double headers at home it's probably North Beach & it was, grabbing a massive 5 wins from 7 games accumlating 35pts.
Ok drum roll time, here we go for Final Predictions for 2024/2025 1 White Season:

For context, 'after R6' column was our predictions from R7 onwards on where all teams would finish at the end of the season. As you can see we are probably not changing our predictions much but there's definately a full Agg to half an Agg between some teams. We have simplified added actuals results from R7 to R13 but NOT changed any predictions from R14 to R18 from those earlier R6 predictions so yes still predicting now from what we knew at R6 is a higher risk but that's the fun of predicting & that's the same methoology applied for the last 5 years so we'll hold tight on that even if we are way off.
We said there was 2 massive surprises & we think Leeming to win, even after last weeks convincing loss to a far lower team doesn't look great when we're talking 1 Red but since the Dolphins also dropped their bundle they survive & hold top spot. Is it too early for the Lions to think about PL, maybe? But now the thought is in their head there's no going back from here & they need to be pulling the big boy pants on this weekend or it can unravel just as quick.
Can you believe we have a draw in 2nd between (and absolutely no way did we change any predictions, its honestly landed this way) between Cockburn & Joondalup but our score % predictor to R18 has Cockburn marginally ahead but if this goes down to score % it will put the Titans in the box seat.
Now our 2nd massive surprise is 4th spot going to Manning by 0.5pt & that's only because North Beach only grab 1pt on the final round against Titans (unstandable) of the season & the Eagles grab 6pts against the powerhouse of Joondalup at Manning. Can a team that went 2 from 7, actually play Finals? Stats state likely not but they have a favourable run home & just might produce a miracle run. However, the final round is an absolute corked, its 100% box office TV. Both top teams will be playing away, if Joondalup beat Manning they can go up but if Leeming beat Osborne Park away on the last day they go up. The Saints haven't lost many at home & will be fighting hard to stay safe so this will absolutely go down to 0.5 or maybe 1pt if Leeming lose at Osborne Park & Dolphins win away. We are in for a massive treat over the coming weeks, strap yourself in for a rollarcoaster.

The Reds picked up a great win against the top side so yes they can produce the results on occasions but that consistency needs to increase.
The Saints were looking like real Finals contenders only last month & have dropped right off. It’s ok to have a slump but not when you’re now in playoff territory. Huge game for the home side & they’ve done tricky ones to finish so they need a big Agg here or they’ll season will soon feel very different in March.
Cockburn
Stephen West, Wayne Clegg, Jim Ricci, Marc Abonnel
Viktor Dropulic, Ivan Mateljak, Josip (joe) Marevic, Tony Krajancic
Brian Blagaich, Mirko Musulin, Dinko Golem, Michael Simunovic
Ian Coyne, Hal Chambers, Derek Gibson, William Tepania INS: Dropulic OUTS: Ravlich
If North Beach can win away then surely the Titans can get 2 for the season. They need an away win & they’ll get a look here.
Manning have a massive chance here to go 4 on the trot for the 1st time this season but they did ho 3 on a row twice last season R1-R3 & R8-10 so they have the ability but this will be 3 of the last 4 games at home so this is absolutely their purple patch but they need to maximise these opportunities against a top side if they dream of Finals.
Manning 6 - 2
Leeming v North Beach
Leeming

Todd McMahon, Steve Richards, Richard Aitken, Michael Sweeney INS: Douthie OUTS: Fielding
The top crew have barely held position & are probably lucky to still d top but they’re there & have a huge chance against a side who have already won away this season & I’d think that’s their Powerball for the season.
North Beach won’t be coming into this as massive underdogs as they’re only 1pt off a 2nd spot. Win here & skys literally the limit. It’s a massive game knowing that a win here & next week likely puts them top spot & a genuine chance of a ticket to the big dance.
Leeming 7 - 1
Joondalup v Mosman Park
Joondalup
Harry Teeuwissen, Eugene Dardengo, Barry Crawford, Jon Hunter
Martin Cheesman, Roy Humfrey, Michael Korycin, James Buchanan

Nicholas Parker, Mark Whiting, Kenneth Stower, Terry Cranswick
Jason Kop, Jeffrey Adams, Christine Ace-Watson, Lisa Featherby INS: Stower OUTS: Swanson
GAME OF THE ROUND: The Dolphins will be kicking themselves, they should be top after offered d every chance last week but couldn’t convert.
Mossies did bounce back last wkend but their away wins are a concern to be honest or at least their frequencies. It’s not going to get easier from here & they absolutely need some Aggs but this won’t be easy. Dropping an Agg here for Dolphins will also likely right off their big ticket to the dance & they’ve been pretty honest at home so it’ll be difficult to go against.
Joondalup 7 - 1
Bassendean v Gosnells
Bassendean
Phillip Hutchinson, Shane Colegate, Garry Atkinson, Butch Dinnison

Michael Byrne, Rod Worth, Mark Beauchamp, Rue Bishop
Larry Paterson, Peter Gale, Mike Rickard, Eoghan Gahan
David Bradbury, Jeff Watson, Trevor Close, Ian Quayle INS: Gahan, Gale OUTS: Sharpe, Cragan
Massive game for both sides, real double pointer. If either side dream of even the playoffs then they’ll not get there by losing this. I think the loser here is absolutely 1 Blue potential & there’s little that can happen with 4 games remaining to change that narrative.
