One Blue North
Where to from here with 4 rounds to play
North Perth 68 points
A very promising club most certainly on the rise. They appear to have a good compliment of young and experienced players all with the requisite skills set. They combine well and will be hard to beat.
Next 4 - North Beach (H) , Mt Lawley (A), Quinns Rocks (H) and Doubleview (A)
Estimated points 23
Estimate total 91 points
Sorrento 66.5 points
Easily the most experienced team in the division after a horror first five rounds (1-4) they have recovered winning 8 of the last 9. They have beaten every team in the division which makes them a solid chance for promotion.
Next 4 - Warwick (A) Yokine (H), Doubleview (H) and Wanneroo (A)
Estimated points 21
Estimate total 87.5
Wanneroo 64.5 points
A very good team in this division who have probably underperformed and have a tricky run home but should win at least 2 of the remaining four. Will be hard to beat if they make finals.
Next 4 – Cambridge (A) Warwick (H) Yokine (A) and Sorrento (H)
Estimated points 18
Estimate total 82.5
Quinns Rocks 60 points
The enigma of the division. They have a team on paper capable of beating anyone but have become over reliant on the Shane Smith rink setting their victories up.
Next 4 – Mt Lawley (H), Doubleview (A), North Perth (A) and Cambridge (H)
Estimated points 21
Estimate total 81.5
Cambridge 59 points
Lions at home, Lambs away. 7 home games have netted 47 points whilst 7 away games produced a paltry 12 points. They are expected to finish strongly but not enough to play finals.
Next 4 – Wanneroo (H), North Beach (A), Mt Lawley (H) and Quinns Rocks (A)
Estimated 20 points
Estimate total 79 points
Yokine 50.5 points
Clearly the most disappointing team in the division. With the players on their roster they should be much better positioned. However they are expected to come home strongly.
Next 4 Doubleview (H), Sorrento (A) Wanneroo (H) and North Beach (A)
Estimated 24 points
Estimate total 74.5 points
Mount Lawley 59 points
A good side but as with Sorrento they are the clubs second side and are at the mercy of changes from above. Several very talented players in their squad make them a danger to whoever they play but they also have a very trick last 4 games.
Next 4 – Quinns Rocks (A), North Perth (H), Cambridge (A) and Warwick (H)
Estimated points 14
Estimate total 73 points
Warwick 56 points
A very solid side who have proven to be unpredictable so a fair bit of guess work has to go into their future results.
Next 4 - Sorrento (H), Wanneroo (A) North Beach (H) and Mt Lawley (A)
Estimated 13 points
Estimate total 69 points
North Beach 42.5 points
Their once giant advantage has turned into their Achilles heel in that they simply do not win enough games away from home and are now losing the odd one at home. Likely to be demoted.
Next 4 North Perth (A), Cambridge (H), Warwick (A) and Yokine (H)
Estimated points 10 points
Estimate total 52.5 points
Doubleview 34
Got off to a poor start and never recovered. Will be demoted to second division.
Next 4 Yokine (A), Quinns Rocks (H), Sorrento (A) and North Perth (H)
Estimated 8 points
Estimate total 42 points

OUTS: Jones, Wright

Few ins and outs for both teams as North Perth look to consolidate top spot with only a few rounds to go as they welcome North Beach who a languishing in 9th and will need to start their march now and try notch up a few wins. The Pioneers haven’t been as dominant as they were to start the season, in saying that, they remain top, however the chasing pack are closing in and ready to pounce on any hiccups. Not sure if this is the game where they faulter, tipping the Pioneers to notch up a win and remain in top with only a few remaining.
North Perth 7-1

Cambridge v Wanneroo

INS: Rayner, Beazley
OUTS: Griffin, Sarich

6th vs 3rd in this one, however a couple of weeks ago, it would have been 2nd vs 3rd, which shows how close this division is. A win for Cambridge will see them swap places with Wanneroo, other results pending of course…The Knights are strengthened by the inclusion of Garlick who takes a rink, while it looks like Griffin is sitting this one out for the Roos which weakens them if anything. Cambridge have not lost at home all year and I am going to tip them to carry on that record and gallop into the top 3 at the visitors’ expense
Cambridge 6-2

Quinns Rocks v Mount Lawley

OUTS: Scott, Miles

Quinns welcome the Mighty Mounters to the Craypot in the Game of the Round. It’s 4th vs 5th, however two of the stronger teams in the division. The Mounters reshuffle looks to be paying dividends, with the 4 skippers all accomplished PL players. AJ has wound back the clock and word has it is in Prickle’s ear about a recall to the State team and wouldn’t it be a good match up if that rink gets the Smith rink who are 12-1 for the season and +165 shots. Quinns have been up and down this year and I think the Mounters team looks much stronger now and picking them to Mount a win and knock on the door of finals.
Mt Lawley 6-2

Yokine v Doubleview

Yokine

Taylor Pervan, David O'Nions, Ben Conway, David Cosgrove
Timothy Yates, Gary Papadopoulos, Winton Langdon, Cameron Bell
Fred Williamson, Dyson Edwards, Jarrod Steele, Mark Fredericks
INS: No changes
OUTS:

8th vs 10th here and it’s Doubleview playing for pride. They’re now 2 whole aggregates away from 8th with 3 games to go. Yokine are 8.5 points outside the safe zone so a win here will keep them interested at least… They’ve actually shown some decent performances in recent weeks and should get the job done against the bottom side. I think Doubleview’s only hope is Cameron Bell who has recorded some very good wins since coming up into the team. Tipping Yokine to win and confirm Doubleview’s relegation by the weekend.
Yokine 7-1

Warwick v Sorrento

OUTS:

Finally we head to the Nest as 7th placed Warwick host 2nd placed Sorrento. Warwick were in the top 4 on a couple of weeks ago, so again, a win here could shuffle them back up the ladder and even into the top 4 depending on other results. Sorrento have been incredible the second half of the season after starting the season 1-4 after 5 rounds. Since then, they’ve only lost 1 and are sitting pretty in the top 2. The home side is missing one of their skips in Wright and the visitors look to be mostly unchanged. Both grass clubs, I’m tipping the experience of Sorrento to get over the line here and Warwick will need to win both of their last 2 games to survive playing off.
Sorrento 7-1
