Important match for Dalkeith at home to try and get their season underway. So far it has been pretty disappointing with just 3 rink wins, two of which have come from the Saunders rink. Kalamunda on the other hand are flying with 2 straight wins and looking in ominous form. Kalamunda did fly out of the gates last season only to hit a brick wall late and they will be determined to keep the early season momentum going. The side looks to have more depth than the previous season and ideally will not be too reliant on the Brandsma rink each week. Dalkeith will give this a shake but expect that the class of Kalamunda will come thru late and they will keep their winning record intact.
Kalamunda 7-1

Well what a match this could be. Rossmoyne at home with just one rink win this season take on the Warnbro side coming off a significant defeat away from home in Round 2. A quirk in the fixture meaning an away trip 2 weeks in a row for Warnbro but a great opportunity for them to turn around their poor away record. But the “Mayor” will be will be priming the Rockingham side in what is really a must win match. Would love to see the combative Lang up against the mild mannered Dr G but however the rinks fall I expect this to be a close match.
Rossmoyne 6-2

Another interesting match between 2 teams with finals aspirations. Rockingham would go in as favourites at home but Cockburn has surprised a few already this year and they will make a good fist of this one. A big reason for the early season success at Cockburn is the brilliant start to the season from maestro Steve Srhoy. To say that Srhoy is a determined person would be a significant understatement but he has taken his preparation to another level this season. My spies tell me that on game day he starts his preparation with a series of exercises including sit ups, push ups, burpees, lunges and occasionally a “Beep test”. After every match he finishes with a 20 minute ice bath as soon as he arrives home after the match so that he will be fresh and fit the next day. I hope he comes up against young gun Marcus Simpson this week - that would be a good match. As I said Rockingham are sneaky good and I think they can get the win at home.

Another interesting match with 2nd placed Kardinya taking on 3rd placed Willetton. Kardinya looking strong early on with “Captain Steady” Danny Comrie back in the side and a great mix of experienced and talented players. They will really fancy their chances at home although they would be wise not to underestimate Willetton. Two early season wins from a recently promoted team is a great sign and they will be looking to maintain their momentum. Willetton will try hard but expect Kardinya to come away with the win and keep the pressure on Kalamunda.
Kardinya 7-1

Thornlie recorded a great win at home last week and they will be keen to get win number 2 on the board with another match at home this week. They take on Forrestfield with just 2 rink winks so far this season in what is likely to be a close match. Forrestfield not really firing at this point but they are a capable team on paper and I expect them to come out firing this weekend. But Thornlie have a major home ground advantage and I expect that they will work away with the points this weekend.
