Finally we come to Quinns Rocks (3rd 4-2) hosting Doubleview (10th 2-4) in what should be a fairly one sided affair. Quinns were on a great run up until last week when they lost to the Mounters, but still should be taking a lot of confidence into this game as they’re very hard to beat at home. Shane Smith continues on his merry way and remains undefeated and he and his rink will be looking for another big win here to ensure the aggregate stays in the Craypot. Doubleview managed a win last week against Yokine, however this will be a tough ask and like Sorrento will be looking to gain as many rink wins as possible so they don’t fall too far behind. I think Quinns will record at least 2 big rink wins in this game to keep the agg safe – how many though?
Quinns 7-1

Warwick v Wanneroo

Warwick
Gary Chappell, Colin Shier, Ivan Sparrowhawk, Brian Ledingham
Adam Pretty, William Shand, Clive Boyle, Glenn Yabuka
Wayne Wyatt, Richard Cox, Graeme Smith, Raymond Loran

Wanneroo

Brian Bucowski, Gareth Hughes, Derek Griffin, David Anderson
INS: Harper, D Burns
OUTS: Davey, Reid

Seventh against fifth here as the Roos (3-3) travel to the Pies Nest (2-4) in what should be an exciting game. After a strong start, Wanneroo have lost 3 on the trot, so this game comes at an opportune time for Warwick who are finding their feet in Blue and looking to string together as many wins as possible early in the season so they’re not stressing out too much late in the season. 4 skips in the top 10 in this game so there should be some good match ups. Warwick managed to beat Sorrento at home early in the season and with Wanneroo struggling to find some form in recent weeks, I’m tipping the home side to swoop and get the majority share of points – but beware the wounded Roo!
Warwick 6-2

Yokine v Sorrento

Yokine
Geoffrey Turner, George Vassilou, Jeffrey West, Ian Cooper
Garry Robertson, Julie Cooper, Richard D'Souza, Wayne Coffey
Peter Lyle, John McGrath, Debra Rhine, Shane Shaw
Fred Faigenbaum, Clifford Wemm, Brett Marron, Martin Sharp

Sorrento

Philip Potts, Lily Leach, Richard Bone, David Dunstan
Gary Bayne, Ian Munro, Ian Linford, Lance Martin
Trish Cunningham, Barney Fleiser, Stanley Lindsay Baker, Ronald Rogers
INS: Bourne
OUTS: Mortimer

Yokine (6th 3-3) have been up and down this year, beating Cambridge a few weeks ago then losing to Doubleview. They welcome Sorrento (9th 2-4) who are coming off a win last week against Warwick. Coffey comes back in for the home side who is an important addition as his rink were responsible for a couple of their wins this year. Sorrento are a proud club and with their experience can put together a good performance on their day, however I’m tipping the Doggies to win at the Kennel without too much conviction as they’ve proven me wrong a few times this season. Sorrento will want to win as many rinks as they can though to get them out of the Beef – sorry Suchy, stealing your material.
Yokine 6-2

Cambridge v North Beach

Cambridge
Andrew Ness, Peter Easom, Steven Draper, Nicholas Lewis
Eric Henning, Alistair Duncanson, Geoffrey Jones, Neil Bolton
Mark James, Edward Leahy, Clifford Wooldridge, Andrew Garlick
Stuart Lofthouse, David Phillips, Wallace Manning, Garry Hawkes

OUTS: Draper, McShane

North Beach

David Vinicombe, Sandy Stevenson, Gary Gregson, Lee Mitten
Matthew Buttel, Ed Retallack, William Brown, Garry Barr
Raymond Wright, Graeme Mackenzie, Alan Howe, Jeffery Post
INS: Mackenzie
OUTS: Cowl

Cambridge (2nd 4-2) welcome North Beach (8th 2-4) to the Stable. The Knights coming off a great away win against Wanneroo last week, whilst The Beach Boys went down at home to the Pioneers. Cambridge are looking like they’re in for a top 3 finish this year and at home, I believe they’ll be too strong with the quality skips they can field. Tipping a dominant performance in this one by +30 shots and I think North Beach will be lucky to escape with a point.
Cambridge 7-1.

North Perth v Mount Lawley

North Perth
Michelangelo Italiano, Ruby Leggett, Brett Havercroft, Anthony Kay
John Hobbs, Michael Lake, Todd Hampshire, Markus Merz

OUTS: Matthews

Mount Lawley
Denham Delmore, Mark Glasson, Guy Herriot, Phillip Park
Peter Callison, Mick Palumbo, Keith Scott, Enda Munnelly
Janice Miles, Jane Lewis, Carmelo Lenzo, John Cottier
Martin Royce, Ian Watt, Michael Erceg, Laurence Kelly
INS: Lewis, Erceg
OUTS: Fielding, Lewis

GAME OF THE ROUND in this local derby between the Pioneers (1st 4-2) and the Mounters (4th 4-2). Both sides coming off really good wins last week as North Perth won away at North Beach and Mount Lawley taking care of the strong Quinns Rocks outfit. North Perth look to be at full strength and Mount Lawley welcome back Mick Erceg who has not played yet this season. Scott slots into 3rd on the Munnelly rink and this should be a cracker of a game. There’s a plethora of quality players scattered across the 8 teams and I’m looking forward to hearing the result of this one. Would love to see the Horwood vs Park match up to make this even spicier. Tipping a really close one here and with the Mount Lawley Premier side playing the night before, the Peanut Gallery should be in full swing in what will be a great day out on Farmer Street.
North Perth 6-2
