The top 4 sides all winning on Saturday and now we see a bit of a gap forming. Only 3 and a half points separate the next for sides but I think all would need to win at least 6 of the remaining 8 to have any hope of playing finals. No changes down in the beef but lets go through the weeks matches.
Kardinya 83 (2) vs Bassendean 90 (6)
(Craig Stokes 25 - David Rhodes 23) (Daryl Radford 17 - Ruairi Kenyon 26) (Matthew Allen 13 - Wayne Neilson 25) (Steven Novak 28 - Simon Alden 16)
Bassendean make it 4 in a row and 3 of them have been on the road and are now looking good to get the double chance in finals. They have a good record over at Kardy and have continued with a 7 shot win and 6 handy points. In a bit of a mixed bag of results it was Ruairi Kenyon and Wayne Neilson that got the team home and now keeps the Lions 7 clear of the Millers. Kardy really had to win this one I feel and its now 6 losses in a row, I cant see them getting out of the beef.
Looked to be another beauty between these 2 in the match of the round clash but it was the Millers walking away with the chocolates and 6 points. Justin Opie’s rink was the difference with their 10 shot win over the Dolphin Duo while Scotty Walker getting the extra point with a 4 shot win over Adams. The Knights now have some work to do as they loose Nairn for the rest of the season but do have 5 of the remaining 8 games at home.
Mount Lawley 98 (7) vs Safety Bay 54 (1)
(Ben Leggett 32 - Aaron Smith 11) (Corey Bessant 25 - Chris Carruthers 14) (Daniel Trewhella 25 - Zac Boddy 10) (Shane Knott 16 - Stephen Hide 19)
No real shock here as the Mounters rack up a big win against the bottom side by 44 shots. Probably the only real surprise was that the Bay managed to take a rink off them. The Mounters now have the top 3 skippers on the ladder and I think will run down the record of 110 points.
Doubleview 79 (7) vs Sorrento 73 (1)
(Anthony Williams 18 - Murray Hulbert 16) (Charles Slavich 22 - Paul Knight 16) (Kyle McIlroy 24 - Rhett Butler 20) (Ryan Moyle 15 - Ross Cunningham 21)
Doubleview getting the job done at home in a close battle getting 7 points with a 6 shot win over Sorrento. Unfortunately for the premiers all the top 4 sides won so they didn’t make up any ground however it is back to back wins for the first time this year. Sorrento even with the loss hold on to 5th spot but now find themselves 8.5 points out of the 4.
Manning 90 (7.5) vs Osborne Park 70 (0.5)
(David Downey 26 - Segan Pasalich 17) (Kristina Krstic 21 - Jack East 21) (Nathan Jones 23 - Dale Marsland 13) (Warren Holt 20 - Ryan Brown 19)
Manning getting back in the winners circle with a 20 shot win and very nearly a clean sweep against the Saints. The win now equals them with South Perth and gives them a bit of breathing room sitting more than an agg clear of Sorrento. The Saints who have a pretty good record at Manning would of really wanted to win this one to keep themselves in the mix bit now find themselves 9 and a half points out of the 4. Would also need to win 6 out of the remaining 8 I think to be any chance of finals this year
