Couple of big results this week sees the gap close in on a double chance spot. Mt Lawley stretch out their lead and even with 7 rounds to go I don’t think Black Caviar could catch them. The premiers suffer another loss and are in all sorts but let’s go through the results.
Osborne Park 87 (7) vs Doubleview 65 (1)
(Dale Marsland 18 - Kyle McIlroy 17) (Jack East 17 - Anthony Williams 26) (Ryan Brown 25 - Charles Slavich 13) (Segan Pasalich 27 - Ryan Moyle 9)
The Saints getting themselves back into the mix with a big 22 shot win. Young Segan taking care of Moyle by 18 shots and was backed up by Brown with a 12 shot win over Charlie Slavich. The win gets the Saints back in the hunt but have 2 big games coming up. For Doubleview it’s going to be tough from here still 12 points out of the 4 but have 2 home games coming up.
Cambridge 75 (6.5) vs Kardinya 68 (1.5)
(Andrew Drayton 24 - Daryl Radford 17) (Brad Gillingham 13 - Matthew Allen 17) (Cameron Harris 18 - Craig Stokes 18) (Clive Adams 20 - Steven Novak 16)
With a couple of skippers out the Knights managed to remain undefeated at home with a 7 shot win over the Cats. The win gets them 4.5 points from the 4 and have a big one next week when they remain at home to take on the Lions. The torture continues for the Cats but head back home next week to take on Safety Bay in the battle of the beef.
Mt Lawley got their revenge in a close battle with 6 points in their 8 shot win over Sorrento. Newly crowned state singles champion Benny Leggatt continued on his winning way taking care of the aggregate with a 13 shot win over Paul Knight. Mt Lawley host the Saints next week while Sorrento head to Sth Perth
Safety Bay 89 (7) vs South Perth 68 (1)
(Aaron Smith 14 - Ross Bresland 24) (Chris Carruthers 26 - Glenn Pauling 16) (Graeme Smith 23 - Justin Opie 12) (Stephen Hide 26 - Scott Walker 16)
What a performance here from the Bay chalking up another win against a top 4 side with a 21 shot win over the Millers. None of the rinks were close but the Bay getting the job done on 3 out of the 4 rinks. They head to Kardy next week and can get off the bottom of the ladder if they can get their first away win. The Millers now drop back to 4th and have sides hot on their tails, they host Sorrento next week.
Match of the round looked to be a beauty but it was the Eagles continuing their record at the Den with a 4 shot win. The rinks also weren’t close but the win for Manning gets them into 3rd spot just 3 points now behind the Lions. Bassendean will be kicking themselves letting this one slip especially with the Millers also going down and now have a tough task of heading to Cambridge who are undefeated at home. Manning also have a tough task next week as they continue on the road to face Doubleview.
