Wow what a week of results that was. We saw the return of the duck egg, the Millers the only top 4 side to record a win and even with a loss to the front runners they still managed to extend their lead. The gap closes in the middle of the pack but lets go through the results
Kardinya 91 (8) vs Safety Bay 60 (0)
(Beau McGrechan 24 - Graeme Smith 17) (Craig Stokes 22 - Zac Boddy 15) (Matthew Allen 20 - Stephen Hide 11) (Steven Novak 25 - Chris Carruthers 17)
Big result here for Kardy and boy didn’t they need it. Getting all 8 points in their 31 shot win over the Bay and the win gets them within 6 points of Sorrento. Still a lot of work to do for the Cats to get out of the relegation zone but they do play Sorrento next week. Safety Bay 15.5 points from 8th that’s them back to white next season but will be looking to continue making it hard for some teams to make finals.
Cambridge 99 (8) vs Bassendean 48 (0)
(Andrew Drayton 24 - Wayne Neilson 19) (Brad Gillingham 25 - Simon Alden 8) (Cameron Harris 23 - Ruairi Kenyon 10) (Clive Adams 27 - David Rhodes 11)
Holy heck the Knights came to play today and handed the Lions the second duck egg of the round. Although missing 2 skippers the win gets the Knights right back into the mix just sitting outside the 4 by 2.5 points. A big one for them next week when they head down to take on Safety Bay. The Lions just hanging onto 2nd spot but are off to take on the premiers next week.
The Millers getting the job done at home with a 35 shot win over Sorrento. Was very nearly another egg but Paul Knight sneaking the lone point for the visitors by 1 shot over Walker. Big one for the Millers next week as they head over to Osborne Park. Sorrento in a bit of trouble sitting in 8th and need to get back in the winners circle when they host Kardinya next week.
Mount Lawley 73 (2) vs Osborne Park 81 (6)
(Ben Leggett 22 - Segan Pasalich 15) (Corey Bessant 20 - Dale Marsland 19) (Daniel Trewhella 15 - Jack East 17) (Shane Knott 16 - Ryan Brown 30)
The Saints getting a great win over the front runners by 8 shots getting 6 valuable points. Ryan Brown causing the damage with his 14 shot win over Knott and Jack East with the extra point getting over Trewhella by 2. The Saints now right back in the mix and could just about sneak into the 4 if they can get over the Millers next week. Even with the loss the Mounters now 21 points clear, they head over to Manning next week.
Doubleview 73 (7) vs Manning 53 (1)
(Anthony Williams 18 - David Downey 13) (Charles Slavich 19 - Kristina Krstic 16) (John Slavich 23 - Nathan Jones 8) (Ryan Moyle 13 - Warren Holt 16)
Doubleview keeping their finals hopes alive recording a 20 shot win over the Eagles. John Slavich returning to the skippers role and took care of the agg with a 15 shot win over Nathan Jones. The View get another week at home when they host Bassendean and can get themselves right back in the mix with another strong performance. The Eagles just hanging onto 4th spot and have a big one next week when they return home to take on the competition leaders.
