In another big week of results we see the leaders suffer back to back losses for the first time this season, the Knights make it 3 in a row to jump into the 4 and Sorrento now in the beef in a 3 horse race for survival. Only 3 and a half points separate 2nd to 6th with the premiers slowly crawling their way back into the mix. Its going to be a showdown finish but lets go through the results.
Manning 86 (6) vs Mount Lawley 72 (2)
(David Downey 22 - Corey Bessant 14) (Kristina Krstic 21 - Daniel Trewhella 25) (Nathan Jones 20 - Shane Knott 21) (Warren Holt 23 - Ben Leggett 12)
Manning jump to 2nd on the ladder knocking off the leaders by 14 shots. The Eagles were in control from the get go with the rinks of Downey and new Perth Sun Warren Holt getting the job done. Ex Eagles Knott and Trewhella getting the 2 points for the visitors and while I don’t think they will get run down should the premiers get over them next week things might start to get a little interesting. Another big one coming up for Manning when the head over to Sth Perth as a deferred match played on the 28th
Osborne Park 77 (6) vs South Perth 73 (2)
(Dale Marsland 14 - Justin Opie 24) (Jack East 28 - Glenn Pauling 11) (Ryan Brown 18 - Ross Bresland 15) (Segan Pasalich 17 - Scott Walker 23)
The Saints getting up here in a close one but its 6 valuable points in their 4 shot win over the Millers. Jack East getting a big 17 shot win over Glenn Pauling with the extra point coming from the rink of Ryan Brown. While still in 6th place they are only 1 point out of the 4, they head over to take on Kardy next week while the Millers get the week off before taking on Manning.
Sorrento 64 (1) vs Kardinya 94 (7)
(Chris Leggett 13 - Beau McGrechan 24) (Murray Hulbert 20 - Steven Novak 14) (Paul Knight 11 - Craig Stokes 33) (Rhett Butler 20 - Matthew Allen 23)
Wowee what a win by the Cats thumping Sorrento by 30 shots. The Cats have turned things around in the last couple of weeks and if they can beat the Saints when they return back home next week are a real chance of hanging on to premier. Sorrento are now in super big heck as their horrid run at home continues. Its try and survive from here on in and it doesn’t get much better as they head to Cambridge next week.
The Knights have broken through to get their first away win of the season with a 14 shot win over the Bay. The win makes it 3 in a row for the Knights and have jumped up to 3rd on the ladder. They will be looking to consolidate next week when they head back home to take on Sorrento. Safety Bay head over to the Den to take on Bassendean
Doubleview 87 (7) vs Bassendean 77 (1)
(Anthony Williams 22 - Simon Alden 16) (Charles Slavich 24 - Ruairi Kenyon 15) (Kyle McIlroy 22 - David Rhodes 16) (Ryan Moyle 19 - Stein Davies 30)
Doubleview keeping themselves alive with a 10 shot win over Bassendean. From reports it looked to be a close one all the way with the home side getting the last few ends to get them over the line. Massive game for the View next week as they head over to take on Mt Lawley. The Lions have fallen out of the 4 but only by percentage, with Stein the only rink to get up it might be an interesting selection meeting coming up. They host Safety Bay next week and it’s a must win game.
