Kalamunda re claimed top position of the ladder with a 6-2 victory over Kardinya on the weekend. Frank Carbone and Dwayne Wooltorton both stepped up for the home side to record comfortable victories over Ross Knapp and Marcus Ayres respectively. For the Kardinya side the big news for them was the absence of both Brad Henley and Freddy Flintoff who had both been in great recent form. This proved to be a barrier to hard to overcome although veteran Norm Ball stepped up for the home side to defeat the previously unbeaten Brandsma rink by 20 shots. Kalamunda now firm favourites to secure that automatic promotion position come the end of the season and Kardinya will try and re group and come again over the final 4 matches.
Warnbro 58 (1) vs Rockingham 80 (7)

Warnbro must have been late getting back from Dalkeith last weekend as they suffered another surprise defeat at home at the hands of Rockingham. On paper the Rockingham team looked to be below top strength without Simpson and Currie but to their credit they bounced back strongly after 3 defeats on the trot, Wins to the reliable Bruce Edwards, Mark Devenny and John Lethlean ensured that the bulk of the points were heading to Rockingham. Warnbro stuck in 10th position and now under more pressure after dropping a game that they would have expected to win. Rockingham now back with some hope of getting back into the top 3 spots come the end of the season.
Cockburn 97 (7.5) vs Thornlie 64 (0.5)

Cockburn continued on their merry way at home with another comfortable victory and 7.5 points against Thornlie on the weekend. Dennis Bandy, James Wylie and Steve Srhoy all with comfortable victories whilst Peter Burgess shared the points with Jim Stern. Cockburn lurking around the top 3 and can be expected to win both of their remaining home games but could they pull of a surprise and get an away win out of the blue to give themselves a shot at a top 3 position. Thornlie now under pressure sitting in 9th position and a difficult path to avoid relegation.
Willetton 101 (7) vs Forrestfield & Districts 70 (1)
Willetton secured a pretty dominant win over Forrestfield to bank 7 valuable points to help cement themselves in 3rd position. They are having a tremendous season with strong wins to Cameron Girvan, Alan Walters and Justin Wright. They will now really fancy themselves for some finals action and a chance to push up to One White next season. Forrestfield still sitting in 6th place but have 4 other teams nipping at their heels for that spot in what should be an exciting end to the season for the 5 clubs in the botton half of the ladder.
Rossmoyne 91 (7) vs Dalkeith Nedlands 68 (1)

Cometh the hour cometh the man with Mayor Lang in imperious form as he secured a 23 shot victory over the normally reliable Martin Saunders on the weekend. This helped carry the aggregate and 7 valuable points for the home side. All other rinks looked to be competitive but with that victory Rossmoyne bounce out of the bottom 2 positions for now. Dalkeith back in 8th place and with just 5.5 points separating 6th placed Forrestfield and 10th placed Warnbro we are set for a pressure packed end of the season for the bottom 5. Every point is going to be vital and winning your home games is going to be critical. We now have a week’s break and looking forward to the next round already.
