Well we have reached the end of the season and firstly well done to the Mounters who not only finish as minor premiers but have set a new record for most points scored in a season an incredible effort. The Saints have come from nowhere in the last few weeks and has pinched the double chance from the Knights. Cambridge and Manning finish out the 4 and all will head to Mt Lawley for the first day of the finals. Both last year’s finalist didn’t make the cut and for the first time in 6 years the grand final won’t feature the Millers. Safety Bay and the Cats head straight back down to white but let’s have a look at the results.
Kardinya 76 (1) vs South Perth 84 (7)
(Beau McGrechan 33 - Scott Walker 15) (Craig Stokes 12 - Justin Opie 25) (Matthew Allen 13 - Ross Bresland 21) (Steven Novak 18 - Glenn Pauling 23)
The Millers getting the job done with an 8 shot win over the Cats. Unfortunately they needed a result to go their way which didn’t happen so finish this year in 5th place. The Cats head back down to white and will be very strong contender’s again next season.
The Mounters finish off a superb season winning the top of the table clash and setting a new record of 112. They also finish with the top 3 skippers on the ladder which is also an incredible effort and are the team to beat in the final series. The Knights will be disappointed missing out on the double chance and will now have to win 3 games to take out the flag this year.
Manning head into the finals series after beating Sorrento by 14. Kristina Krstic’s 16 shot win over Rhett Buttler did the damage and will now head to Mt Lawley next week to take on the Knights. Sorrento hang on for another year but really could have been in finals contention winning 4 games on the road but struggled to win at home.
Safety Bay 76 (6.5) vs Doubleview 70 (1.5)
(Chris Carruthers 14 - Bradley White 21) (Graeme Smith 26 - Charles Slavich 14) (Grant Taylor 17 - Anthony Williams 17) (Stephen Hide 19 - Kyle McIlroy 18)
Safety Bay go out win a bang beating the premiers by 6. They do head back to white but did have wins against some very good sides this year. Doubleview finish off a very disappointing season in 7th place but im sure will be back stronger next year.
Bassendean 81 (2) vs Osborne Park 87 (6)
(David Rhodes 23 - Dale Marsland 15) (Ruairi Kenyon 15 - Jack East 26) (Stein Davies 28 - Segan Pasalich 19) (Wayne Neilson 15 - Ryan Brown 27)
The Saints getting the chocolates and have also scored the double chance in next weeks finals getting over the Lions by 6. They take on the Mounters in the first game of the finals and will go in confident as they did beat there during the year. Bassendean were looking so good for finals for most of the season but finish off this year in 6th place
