Well it certainly is all happening and who would have thought but it is Sorrento leading the field after defeating 2 of the flag favourites while Manning the only other undefeated team after getting another close win. Unbelievably the reigning premiers sit at the bottom yet to win a rink. What a crazy first couple of weeks but let’s go through the results
Manning 69 (5) vs Bassendean 67 (3)
(David Downey 14 - Wesley Neilson 19) (Kristina Krstic 15 - Simon Alden 19) (Nathan Jones 17 - David Rhodes 20) (Warren Holt 23 - Ruairi Kenyon 9)
Looked to be another ripper of a game and I’m lead to believe that the Lions may have let this one slip. New recruit Warren Holt playing a ripper with his last to pick up a 3 and win the game for the home side. Still 3 points for the Lions sits them nicely in the 4 while manning sit in second spot.
Doubleview 54 (0) vs Osborne Park 96 (8)
(Anthony Williams 11 - Ryan Brown 26) (Charles Slavich 10 - Segan Pasalich 28) (Kyle McIlroy 15 - John Goddard 20) (Ryan Moyle 18 - Jack East 22)
Holy heck I didn’t see this one coming but the Saints have thumped the premiers by 42 on their own track. After a close loss last week the visitors certainly came to play with Pasalich and Brown doing the damage. Big one for the View next week as they head to Manning while the Saints play host to Mt Lawley
The Cats have chalked up their first win of the season with a 6 shot win over the Knights. Matty Allen had a big win over Clive Adams and was backed up by Steve Novaks 8 shot win over Cam Harris. The Knights continue on the road next week when they head to Basso while Kardy head down to Safety Bay
Mount Lawley 77 (2) vs Sorrento 82 (6)
(Ben Leggett 23 - Paul Knight 21) (Corey Bessant 16 - Ross Cunningham 24) (Daniel Trewhella 20 - Rhett Butler 15) (Mark Masel 18 - Bruce Eagles 22)
What a start from Sorrento claiming another win over one of the favourites in Mt Lawley. The rink wins of Cunningham and Eagles was enough to get the boys over the line with a 5 shot win and 6 points on the road. Sorrento host the Millers next week which will be a beauty while the Mounters face another tough one as the head to Osborne Park
South Perth 86 (7) vs Safety Bay 73 (1)
(Glenn Pauling 27 - Matthew Mortensen 12) (Justin Opie 22 - Chris Carruthers 14) (Ross Bresland 15 - Graeme Smith 29) (Scott Walker 22 - Grant Taylor 18)
The Millers getting the job done at home with a 13 shot win over the Bay. Just the 1 point for the visitors with Smith getting a nice win over Bresland. They head back home to take on Kardy next week I feel this is a must win game for them. Sth Perth head to Sorrento for match of the round Sent from my iPhone
