Another great weekend of bowls in One Blue South. Let’s have a look at this weeks highlights:
- Both Kalamunda and Kardinya remain the two undefeated teams at the end of round 3. They are having a battle royale for top spot and automatic promotion with Kalamunda just in front by 0.5 points at this stage.
- Just looking ahead at the fixtures the two teams clash in round 5 at Kardinya in what is likely to be the battle of 2 undefeated teams (although Kardinya will need to negotiate a tough away fixture next week at Cockburn)
- At the other end of the ladder Dalkeith sit as the only team now without a win after losing to Kalamunda at home. Dalkeith tried hard and did win 2 rinks but in the end Kalamunda were too strong. Dalkeith will really have to work hard if they are to get themselves out of trouble and matters are not helped with a trip to Warnbro in Round 4.
- Rossmoyne responded well on the weekend with a strong win at home over Warnbro to get themselves off the bottom of the table. If not for the Kalinowski rink it would have been a clean sweep for the home team. They will been keen to build on this win with another home fixture against Forrestfield next week.
- Warnbro will be relieved to get back onto home turf and take on bottom of the table Dalkeith next week. They will be keen to get their season back on track.
- Rockingham recorded a good victory at home over Cockburn but Cockburn pushed them all the way. James Wylie recorded a huge 22 shot win over Pietro Villa but this was not enough for Cockburn with wins on the other 3 rinks for Rockingham enough to get the aggregate.
- Forrestfield recorded their first victory in somewhat of a surprise win away from home at Thornlie. The Tillemans train was back in form with a 17 shot win over Jim Stean. A disappointing result for Thornlie at home and they will try and re group away at Willetton next week.
- Willetton suffered their first loss of the season away at Kardinya in what was a pretty competitive effort resulting in 1.5 points. Overall a pretty good start to the season from Willetton and they will be keen to make it 3 from 4 when they play Thornlie next week.
- And finally Kardinya - they could be the team to beat this season. If they can get past a tough fixture at Cockburn next week they would really fancy there chances against Kalamunda at home the following week and top spot on the ladder. Looking forward to next week.
