Suchy is absent on holidays for a week so I'll be on Premier League duties. This round sees no team undefeated left which seems unbelievable compared to other seasons, 6 teams sit with 2 wins and a loss and only Safety Bay winless and need to start winning games or their season could be done.
Safety Bay 71 (2) vs Kardinya 88 (6)
(Chris Carruthers 15 - Bradley Henley 24)
(Grant Taylor 14 - Daryl Radford 30)
(Matthew Mortensen 19 - Matthew Allen 14)
(Stephen Hide 23 - Steven Novak 20)
If there was a game you'd pencil in for Safety Bay it was probably this one as they hosted fellow promoted team Kardinya but it was not to be as they shared rinks but the rink of Daryl Radfords carrying the day with a 16 shot win. Kardy would feel very happy with the win as one of the pack of teams likely bottom 5, away wins are like gold. Stephen Hide and Matt Mortensen getting some points for the home team though so at least they are winning rinks.

Bassendean 74 (6) vs Cambridge 72 (2)
(David Rhodes 16 - Clive Adams 23)
(Ruairi Kenyon 24 - Pieter Harris 13)
(Simon Alden 22 - Cameron Harris 14)
(Wesley Neilson 12 - Blake Nairn 22)
Not a good day to be a Harris at Bassendean as combined they were -19 for the day as Bassendean survived a huge comeback to win by 2. Trailing by as much as 20 after about 60 ends but they came back hard as Blake Nairn extended his margin in the final 4 ends, and both Pieter and Cameron tightened the gap in their games. With 1 bowl to go and Bassendean up by 1, Nairn tried to draw to the ditch to square the aggregate and it just plopped in to give the home side valuable points against a top 4 team

Sorrento 61 (1) vs South Perth 80 (7)
(Bruce Eagles 15 - Scott Walker 21)
(Paul Knight 13 - Justin Opie 18)
(Rhett Butler 11 - Ross Bresland 27)
(Ross Cunningham 22 - Glenn Pauling 14)
South Perth travelled to the surprise early leaders of the comp in Sorrento and made short work of it winning on 3 rinks and a comfortable 19 shots. The star was Ross Bresland with his 16 shot win over Rhett Butler. Ross Cunningham tried hard but his 8 shot win was not enough to carry the aggregate. South Perth move to 2nd spot on the table with this win and you would think will be in the top 4 for quite a while now. Showing how tight the season is so far Sorrento have dropped to 5th despite the loss and remain well in the hunt.

Osborne Park 69 (1) vs Mount Lawley 81 (7)
(Jack East 18 - Daniel Trewhella 23)
(John Goddard 15 - Ben Leggett 21)
(Ryan Brown 16 - Corey Bessant 27)
(Segan Pasalich 20 - Shane Knott 10)
Mount Lawley have flexed their muscle to win away from home and move to the top of the table after the 7-1 win yesterday. The early season favourites back to full strength this week show why they are going to be tough to beat all year with a solid 12 shot win. Young tyro Segan Pasalich the sole rink winner with his 10 shot win for his club, he is a player on the rise coupled with Jack East and Ryan Brown, Osborne Park is building a team for the future guided by the old hand John Goddard. They may have fallen short yesterday but it's a team to watch in future years. Mount Lawley look so complete in all positions and they have put the surprise loss last week behind them.

Manning 72 (2) vs Doubleview 78 (6)
(David Downey 25 - Charles Slavich 17)
(Kristina Krstic 27 - Kyle McIlroy 11)
(Nathan Jones 12 - Ryan Moyle 20)
(Warren Holt 8 - Anthony Williams 30)
Crunch game for Doubleview this week and we can see why any talk of writing them off was off the mark as they won a tight tussle over Manning by 6 shots and 2 rinks each. Kristina Krstic with a 16 shot win tried hard for her club but fellow state skipper Anthony Williams did better with his 22 shot win over Warren Holt. Chocolates to boiled lollies for Holt as his rink carried the agg last week. Manning drop from 2nd to 6th while Doubleview climb off the bottom. Is this the win they needed to get the season going? We'll see after next week.
