Another interesting round of bowls and we now have only one undefeated side come the end of round 4.
Let’s have a look at this weeks highlights:
- Cockburn recorded an impressive 4 shot win over Kardinya to end their unbeaten run in somewhat of an upset. Paul Brotherston (normally a White player??) was the big winner with an 18 shot win over Brett Adams and this win along with a 1 shot win to Steve Srhoy’s team was enough to secure 6 valuable points for Cockburn.
- Kardinya now face top of the table Kalamunda next week with a huge amount riding on this one whilst Cockburn will travel to Thornlie.
- Dalkeith remain the only side without a win after a bit of a rout at Warnbro. Back on familiar home turf after 2 weeks of travel the Warnbro boys were back on track with an easy win. The rinks of Troy Dellar and Dr G did most of the damage with easy wins but can they lift away from home at Rockingham next week.
- Things are getting desperate for the Dalkeith side and they need to win next week at home when they take on Rossmoyne to give themselves any chance of getting out of the bottom 2 sides come season’s end.
- Willetton notched up win number 3 with a narrow win at home over Thornlie. The Cameron Girvan rink did all the heavy lifting with a 15 shot win over Daniel Slade. That and an 8 shot win from Alan Walters was enough to get Willetton the 6 points. A pretty good effort from Thornlie and they will head back home next week to take on the improving Cockburn outfit.
- Kalamunda kept marching forward with a 32 shot win over Rockingham. A tiring week over east was not enough to stop Bill Brandsma and his rink remain undefeated with a 23 shot win over Lindsay Atkins. The only bright spot for Rockingham was the win from Marcus Simpson and his rink also remains undefeated after the first 4 rounds.
- Next week Kalamunda takes on Kardinya in what promises to be match of the season with top spot on the line. Rockingham back at home to take on Warnbro in a match that they must win.
- Finally after some should searching to commence the season the Rossmoyne side seems to be now back on track. They recorded a 7-1 win over Forrestfield with the “Professor” Alan Petchell back in great form downing the T Tillemans rink by 23 shots. The Mayor was also up to the task walking away with the points over the strong R Tillemans rink by just 1 shot.
- Rossmoyne will fancy their chances next week when the travel away to tackle bottom of the table, Dalkeith. Forrestfield back at home and face a must win match over the strong Willetton side.
