Last one from me until Lord Such returns and we see a mini split in the competition as the top 3 sides all with 3 wins get a 3 point break over 4th placed Kardinya who themselves a 3 points clear of 5th placed Cambridge. At the other end Safety Bay again travel and return home with 0 points. We saw this with North Beach the last few seasons struggle away and ultimately it proved their downfall. doubleview as well just aren't hitting their straps but we know they are a good team and you'd expect them to find a way soon
South Perth 88 (7.5) vs Osborne Park 68 (0.5)
(Glenn Pauling 26 - Ryan Brown 20) (Justin Opie 21 - Segan Pasalich 9) (Ross Bresland 22 - John Goddard 20) (Scott Walker 19 - Kevin Pickering 19)
South Perth with a convincing 20 shot win bounce to the top of the table by the half a point courtesy of the Walker v Pickering rink and they are again putting their best foot forward to play finals and get that elusive PL flag. Osborne Park have been promising this year and this result puts a dint in that a bit but they still have a positive shots up which may yet still be handy.
Kardinya 85 (7) vs Sorrento 63 (1)
(Bradley Henley 24 - Ross Cunningham 12) (Daryl Radford 18 - Rhett Butler 20) (Matthew Allen 19 - Paul Knight 15) (Steven Novak 24 - Bruce Eagles 16)
Kardinya are proving to be the surprise packets this year with a 22 shot win over Sorrento. They need to do the business of winning at home if they are to stay here next season and not only doing that but sneaking in away wins as well. Brad Henley with the 12 shot win highlighting the day for the home team. Sorrento would be disappointed not only to lose this but now 2 in a row. Record a win next week and they are back on track.
Cambridge 113 (8) vs Safety Bay 50 (0)
(Blake Nairn 32 - Aaron Smith 17) (Cameron Harris 31 - Stephen Hide 10) (Clive Adams 30 - Chris Carruthers 13) (Pieter Harris 20 - Zac Boddy 10)
Bit of a masterclass here maybe showing the difference between a top 4 and bottom 2 team as Cambridge power to a 63 show win. Every rink winning by double digits as well as Safety Bay couldn't fire a shot. Will this be the firestarter for Cambridge as we all expect them to be a top 4 and even top 2 team?
Bassendean 93 (7) vs Doubleview 86 (1)
(David Rhodes 23 - Charles Slavich 19) (Ruairi Kenyon 23 - Anthony Williams 18) (Simon Alden 29 - Kyle McIlroy 15) (Wayne Neilson 18 - Ryan Moyle 34)
The other surprise packet of the season is Bassendean and they have done the job over Doubleview by 6 shots. They have taken full advantage of 3 home games out 4 to start the season, their only loss was away from home so let's judge them after travelling a few games. It was a topsy turvy game with teams in front at various points, Ryan Moyle as much as 28-2 up keeping his side in it but Bassendean finished the stronger to take the points.
The other close one saw Mount Lawley beat Manning by 9 shots and remain top 2. Ben Leggett maintained his unbeaten streak with a narrow 1 shot win over Krstina Krstic but the hero for the home side was Corey Bessant by 8 over Dave Downey. Manning can't seem to win rinks at the moment, only recorded wins at the moment despite the 2 wins so they need to starting winning rinks to be a force. Mount Lawley doing what they need to at home after their surprising Round 2 loss in what will be a difficult venue to win at.
