Mt Lawley looking the goods and will take some stopping but what an interesting round it was. A couple of home duck eggs were dished out, Benny Leggett remains the only undefeated skipper as we hit the third way mark and we remain unchanged with the beef. Lets go through the results for round 6
Cambridge 81 (6) vs Osborne Park 78 (2)
(Blake Nairn 31 - Ryan Brown 16) (Cameron Harris 11 - Jack East 27) (Clive Adams 15 - Segan Pasalich 21) (Pieter Harris 24 - John Goddard 14)
In a mixed bag of results the Knights have held on for a 3 shot win over the Saints. It was the rinks of Blake Nairn and Pieter Harris that secured the win for the home side and I believe it may have even come down to the last bowl of Nairn. The Knights head to Manning next week while the Saints host Safety Bay.
Safety Bay 80 (1) vs Sorrento 82 (7)
(Aaron Smith 18 - Rhett Butler 23) (Chris Carruthers 31 - Paul Knight 18) (Matteo Massari 17 - Bruce Eagles 23) (Stephen Hide 14 - Ross Cunningham 18)
Sorrento have recorded back to back wins and get 7 handy points on the road at the Bay. Chris Carruthers was the big winner for the home side but it wasn’t enough to get the home side over line. Sorrento remain in the top 4 and return home next week to take on the Lions. Safety Bay have already played 4 games at home with only managing a rink win draw I cant see them getting out of the beef.
Big win here for the Mounters in the top of the table clash racking up the tonne and getting all 8 points at the Den. Daniel Trewhella caused the main damage giving the Alden rink their first loss by 14 and Benny Leggatt continued on his winning way with a 5 shot win over Wayne Neilson. The Mounters host the Millers in another top of the table clash next week while the Lions head over to Sorrento.
South Perth 81 (5.5) vs Doubleview 69 (2.5)
(Glenn Pauling 16 - Kyle McIlroy 17) (Justin Opie 27 - Ryan Moyle 12) (Paul Davies 17 - Anthony Williams 17) (Scott Walker 21 - Charles Slavich 23)
Sth Perth remain undefeated at home this season with a 12 shot win over the premiers. While 3 out of the 4 games were close it was the Justin Opie rink with a 15 shot win over Ryan Moyle that got the Millers home. They head to Mt Lawley next week which should be a beauty. Unbelievably this was the first rink win for Slavich and McIlroy and it’s a big couple of weeks now for Doubleview. They have 2 out of their next 3 a home to wrap up the first half they have to win them both if they are any chance of defending their flag and it all starts next week when they host Kardy
Well I didn’t see this coming but what a performance from the Eagles getting all 8 points at Kardy. Warren Holt flew out of the box leading Sherriff 14 zip and held on to get over the GOAT by 10. Kristina Kristics rink continued their great form with a 7 shot win over Steve Novak. The win jumps Manning into 3rd as the host Cambridge next week while Kardy head over to Doubleview.
